Hello,

Regarding IELTS, I took the exam back in 2010 and I got 8.5 overall.
Can I use that one or do I have to take a new one?

Please advise?

Thanks,
elbob

If it was a general test, not for academic, then you can submit it.

Yes, it was for PR, and it was General test.

But I don't have the paper, do I contact the centre or do I just tell them score and mention it was given to them for PR?

Thanks,
Elbob

Would a scan of the website be good enough?
I mean the website that you logon to to get your score?

You will need a photocopy of the results. And may also need the original for when you get invited for the test/interview, and the oath.

I'll just redo it and wait a month :(
what a waste of time and money
There are other acceptable language proofs. From the guide,

Proof of completion of a secondary or post-secondary program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, includes:
  • A diploma or transcripts from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating the successful completion of a program, in French or English, either in Canada or abroad, or
  • A diploma or certificate from a secondary or post-secondary school indicating successful graduation from a program conducted in French or English, either in Canada or abroad.

Note: You must have successfully finished a secondary or post-secondary program in English or French. A single course done in English or French does not meet the requirement. If the original document is in a language other than English or French then you must also include a letter from the academic institution indicating that the language of instruction was in English or French along with an official translation of the original document.

Can I send them the printout from the test online, and tell them that the original document is with them in the PR application?
meanwhile, I take the test in a couple of weeks, then have that ready in case they ask for it?

or will that potentially delay me even more, I feel it's the later, and I better just wait.

Thanks Ahamdi, I'll wait a month then, more than 10 years since I first made the intent to come here, so I can wait for a month to apply for Citizenship :)

I tried to contact the centre and then they asked me to contact IELTS headquarters based in Australia. I contacted them. They told me that they wouldn't be able to issue me any results over 2 years of time. But luckily I had taken the test two times and I have that original. See the email I received from them below.

Hi xxxxxxxxxx

Cambridge do not provide copies of TRFs for test taken more than 2 years ago, that’s why there is no option available on the form.

If you need an IELTS test result then you will need to undertake the IELTS test again at your convenience.

We wish you all the best.

Kind Regards
