Hi everyone,

I am glad to join this forum and would like to share my case with you.
on July 2016, I came to Canada under tourist visa valid till march 2018 after I got married to my husband (iranian/canadian).
We applied for sponsorship under family class- Spouse living in Canada on July 2017. At the same time, I applied for Open Work Permit along with PR. IRCC told us that were are supposed to get an anwser for my OWP within 4 months.

We received an email from IRCC telling us that our file is receivable and we've got a file number on August 2017. IRCC asked me to link my application online and attach my police certificate and fullfil the form IMM5669. the documents were sent to IRCC before 23/09 as they asked.
On 11/09, IRCC sent a second email to my husband inviting him to submit a undertaking application (my CSQdemande d'engagement) to Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI) including a CSQ request which has to be fulfilled and signed by me.
We sent the whole file on 26/09 which was reveived by MIDI on 27/09. Till today, we are still waiting for a answer.
I am curious to know that if MIDI accepts our file and send me my CSQ, what kind of services are accessible to me. Can I have the right to study? Does anyone know any information regarding that?

I am still waiting for my OWP.
Please, share you cases.

Thanks a lot
Wish all the best to everyone

Alo, we applied inland too. But we are before you 1 step. We are waiting for requesting CSQ letter from CIC.
Anyways for studying, as I tried to learn information about it so I can tell you that because you are a visitor so if you want to study, you have to change your visa condition from visitor to study, and you have to pay as an international student. After your visa changes from visitor to PR, you can study (without changing to study visa) and pay as a Canadian student.

Thanks for your reply Trinh. I've heard that with CSQ in hands, we have the possibility to contact Emploi Québec and ask about services that can offer to people how have already received their CSQ and still waiting for their PR.

Does anyone know about that

You have that information in the Sponsor and Principal Applicant guide when you apply for the CSQ, it's in the checklist. They state that you have the right to study French for free if needed, they can help you find a job (I guess counseling) or learn about inclusion and the Québec culture, pretty much.

Hi there, I just got the letter to CIC to ask my husband to submit a undertaking application (my CSQdemande d'engagement) to Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Diversité et de l’Inclusion (MIDI). I can see clearly the answers for your questions on Guide file:
http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/sponsorship/guide-sponsor.pdf
(page 23: Sponsored person already in Québec)

However like I said, before I received this letter from CIC (-> then I can read this Guide), I already called to CIC's partners which are French language schools to ask, and they told me that I have to have PR to have free French courses. But I think because they did not speak English well so they could not understand what I asked and explained. Anyway, the Guide just gave me a good news!

Before we applied for PR, we asked one lawyer in Quebec city if my husband who is Quebecois needs to have a job to sponsor me, and he said that No, according to Quebec law, my husband just needs to stay in Quebec to sponsor me no matter what he has a job or not. He came back to Canada on December 2016 and has a job on January 2017 until now. But I just read this Guide which said that:
"Sponsors are presumed capable of fulfilling an undertaking if, over the past 12 months, they have had gross income from Canadian sources equal to the total of the income appearing in table 1 and 2 below."

http://www.immigration-quebec.gouv.qc.ca/publications/en/sponsorship/guide-sponsor.pdf
(#9. Financial scales - Valid for 2017)

According to the table 1, he sponsors only me and his salary for 10 months is more than the requirement, however, I have a big question that he just works here for 10 months so is he eligible to sponsor me?
