Hi guys

I hope seniors would help to answer questions related to the application questions only. Most of the Qs and As related to the citizenship application are scattered among 100s of questions that are not necessarily related to the application itself.

I hope this will be helpful to present and future applicants to find the answers in short time and in one thread.

For Language proof for citizenship application , can i give copy of CELPIP results which i gave in 2013 ..Actually I mailed sealed envelope of results to CIC for PR application and now i have just the score sheet ... do you think it will be accepted as Language proof?

Another question for citizenship application ,In my Indian passport my surname is blank and given name is XXXX YYYY.
During landing process ,officer told me he can fix this so PR has correct name so he modified my Record of Landing and added remarks there too.
So my PR card has correct first name and last name.

But i never got my driving license and health card modified which has my name XXXX XXXX YYYY ,do you think it will be problem if i provide these as my identity proof documents.

I recommend reading the instruction guide.
  1. Results of an accepted third-party test at the equivalent of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB/NCLC) / Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiensFootnote1 level 4 or higher in speaking and listening either done previously for immigration purposes (acceptable even if expired) or done specifically for citizenship purposes. Test results from the following list are acceptable:
    • Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program General Test (CELPIP-G) or the CELPIP-General LS (listening and speaking), not the academic version.
    • For tests taken after April 1, 2014, you must have achieved a score of level 4 or higher (up to 12) in listening and speaking.
    • For tests taken before April 1, 2014, you must have achieved a score of 2H or higher (i.e., 3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5L, or 5H) in listening and speaking.

You can easily update your name on both the health card and DL. But gonna take at least 3 weeks. Well it all depends on the officer. I really would encourage you to change the name. I would do that because in here it all depends on the officer.

Thanks for suggestion ,I was reading about name change and it seems that first i have to get my Indian passport corrected then only i can use it for correcting Health card and DL though i will check with Service Canada if it can be done just based on my PR card.

Hello

Two quick questions:
1) when you file taxes jointly do both names appear on notice of assessment? our NoA only shows my husband's name and not mine and I wonder if we made a mistake.

2) should I send in notice of assessment or the Option C print out?

Thank you in advance

1) I dont know the answer for no.1 (I am single)> I hope someone will help you

2) You only need to send what is in the check list. In the application you give permission to them to directly contact the Revenue Agency using your SIN number. Make sure you type your SIN number
