Hi All,

The same question is bothering many of us. It would be indeed great if some expert (who has filled it correctly) would suggest us.
My case BE (3 years - admitted directly to second year) + Diploma (3 years).
What option should we choose to get 128 points. I am yet to evaluate my engineering from WES. After reading this I am in a fix whether to evaluate BE or (BE + Diploma). Please suggest
Hi,

Kindly share your final status as per WES and EE? Thanks!

Hi Friends,

I have 3 years Diploma and then B.Tech degree (Lateral Entry) after my 12th.

So its like 12+3+3. Will it be considered as "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees" which awards 128 points.

Hi,

Kindly share your final status as per WES and EE? Did you selected " two or more degrees or diploma" Thanks!

No, added what is given on the WES evaluation. There is no option for two or more degrees. It will automatically calculate and give points for "two or more degrees or diploma".

Canadian Equivalency: Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
And Bachelors degree 4 years.

Hi,
I have following academic credentials

Diploma after 10th grade - 2003-2006 - Canadian Equ - Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)
B tech 2006-2009 - Canadia Equivalency - Bachelor's Degree ( 4 years).

When filling the form i am confused that whether my diploma is equivalent to Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years) option in Express Entry Form or can i select Bachelor's Degree (3 years) or DIploma options which awards more points in profile?

Actually WES has credited me with Bachelor Degree ( 4 years) even though i attended 3 years only and in the remarks column they have mentioned that Mr Veneet was exempted from 1st year because of his previous study which was given Canadian Equivalency of Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years)

Now i want to know what option should i choose because simple "secondary school diploma" for my DIploma awards me total 428 points and when i selected "Bachelors Degree ( 3 years) or Diploma " my score jumped to 460!

I am very confused and i dont know what to do, this time i played safe and selected secondary school diploma equivalency and missed this DRAW while sitting on 428, i intend to be very cautious in my approach and i need your genuine suggestion in this regard.

Awaiting for your replies!!!!! God Bless ALL

Thanks a lot for reply. Correct me if I am wrong for these 2 queries A) Did you get 128 points for education and 100 points for transferability skills? B) While filling the EE form, it is not required to select the options like " Bachelors" or " Two or more degrees etc". After filling the educational credentials, it automatically select the applicable criteria. Is it correct? Thanks for your time and appreciate for it. Warm regards

Yes, put whatever given on WES sheet. It will automatically calculate everything. Below are my points without spouse.
  • Level of education = 128
  • Skill transferability factors = 50 [Depends upon IELTS, trying to increase it]

Regarding this query...is there a link or point of contact in Canadian immigration site that is www.cic.gc.ca to clarify this query. I have 87 credit hours that consitutes 3 years of study for a college degree and 2 year study for a bachelor degree. My lawyer states that Canada looks at a 2 year college degree and 2 year bachelor degree from an USA accredited education facility as a 4 year bachelor degree. Further in order for it to count as 2 or more degree i need to have +180 credit hours of study. Still stubborn about it and wanting to challenge my lawyers input. Is there an official response from www.cic.gc.ca that one can obtain...a live person or query email. Please advise, thanks.

Second point:

I have completed my studies in USA:

-Associates degree for +87 credit hours which constitute 3 years of study. I continued additional studies in college after obtaining associates degree. ECA evaluated it as 2 year Canadian degree.
-two year university study which awarded me a Bachelor degree and ECA evaluated it as a 4 year Canadian bachelor degree.

Per my lawyer 2 or more degrees constitute +180 credit hours of study.
Please advise if i can select 2 or more degrees in this scenario

Not commenting on what you should claim but an associates degree is usually upgraded to a bachelor's degree with 2 years of university in the US. Claiming 2 degrees seems to be double dipping in my opinion.

Thanks for the honest reply.
ECA gave me an equivalency of 2 year degree and four year degree. Per ww.cic.gc.ca 2 or more degrees..one of them should be 3 years. The college degree falls in this category.
Just confused with the verbiage and trying to achieve the max points without causing any repercussions later.

Hi Friends,

I want to know If BTEC Level 3 diploma can be used to claim points in Two or More Degrees or diploma category. After completing my class 10th; I started BTEC Level 3 from edexcel and then did Bachelors for which I have an ECA of equivalency to 4 Years degree.

In addition to the above, I want to know, can I just apply for an ECA for BTEC level 3 separately and then claim points for it in two or more degree section (if applicable)? or do I need to send my degree and BTEC diploma together for evaluation again for one ECA?

Please help me out as it's very confusing :/

Thanks in advance.
