@ LegalFalcon,
I have a question on DS 160, I am Indian living in US on H1B and I got my COPR last week and now I am planning to enter Canada by road sometime around November and as I am on H1B I need to go to stamping to come back to US. So while filling my DS160 I came across the following question
"Are you a permanent resident of a country/region other than your country/region(nationality) mentioned above?"
For this do I need to mention Yes or No

my considerations are as below
Yes - I will be PR by the time I attend the interview as I will be traveling and completing the landing process while entering Canada for H1B interview.
No - As of the day I fill my DS160 I haven't landed yet.

Can you please let me know what will be the best answer in my situation.
You only become PR after you land and are admitted as a PR. So you will need to answer accordingly. It is on the day you sign the form, not what will happen.

Dear @legalfalcon

i called cic today and the agent told me i looked at your file and it seems like cairo visa office sent back to ottawa an identity verification or for identity verification and they are waiting for their reply. you have to wait hopefully not too long and when it's finished they will instruct them to issue your visa.

i couldn't understand if this initial request was made by officials in cairo and they are asking ottawa for permission although i did have an identity verification or they sent a result to ottawa waitng for approval.
but anyway she assured that you need a reply from ottawa
i ordered gcms notes as well but do you have any idea how long it might take?
thanks for your help and sure will keep you posted.
If they say identity verification, it should not take long, as it is in internal process and daily quick. But, it should have already been done, not sure why it is sent to Ottawa. Just see what your GCMS says.

The MPs do not influence or expedite the case in any way. They can only ask for the states and IRCC is obligated to respond to them within 24 hours.

The only means you have is:

Raise CSE
Send emails to CPC-CTD-Ottawa@cic.gc.ca
and order GCMS notes. When notes are ordered, an officer has to review the file before releasing the notes.

Apart from this, you will have to wait it out.
Hv ordered gcms notes 3 times after case analyst reccomendatiin, but did not get any help in movement of file. Neither calling or emailing to cpco helping Could you tell me what does that note means: PReVU verified( applicant information)? Also i am surpirsed why cant we take legal help to inquire about delay in our case as we r not under SS. Its almost 8 months now and dont know how long it wll cont.

Heartiest Congratulations!!

Your daughter is from a passport exempt country, so you do not need to send her passport. Just the photocopy.
Thank You LegalFalcon. So since my daughter's passport will not be stamped, will she just get a COPR document?

Please also let me know what should be the size of return envelope and any specifications around that.

Also, I was assuming I might get it processed in local visa office. Is it normal to get passport request to be mailed ?

Thanks,
Sasi

You don't get any points for spouse work ex. So you can move it to personal history, no issues.
Hi @legalfalcon So IRCC won't compare my first application with the second (new) one? I am just worried that they might say why we specified the work experience for my spouse in the first application and why have we said no spouse work experience in the second one?

Hi Legalfalcon I got my PPR and I owe you so much

I have a Q

would it be ok to have my husband submit there passport before I submit mine ? Of note we are submitting to different visa offices in two different countries and CIC know and approved this and I am the primary applicant? So is it ok if hubby submitted his passport first?

Your application is just stuck then. PReVU is the system used to verify personal information. Is your eligibility recommended passed?

Yes, for your daughter as she is a US citizen, she will only get a CoPR. It should be the standard priority envelope you get at USPS.

If you are in the US, you will have to mail your passport to Ottawa.

For your spouse you don't get any points for their foreign work experience. So no need to worry. Also, you are not changing anything. You are nearly moving the work history from work to personal. In personal history you have to have everything.

Actually my ex employer is not much helpful. I have mentioned the docs that all I have. It’s also mentionable that, they provided experience letter in their regular format in which annual remuneration is mentioned. Is it sufficient? because I don’t have other pay stubs except Salary Fixation, Salary Increment Letter and Tax Payment Certificate.

If you have informed IRCC of submitting the PP to different locations, you can submit it at different times, however to land, the PA will have to land first, or with the dependents. The dependents cannot land before the PA.

If your employer is not issuing you the letter in the IRCC format then get what he is giving, explain it in LoE and add as many documents to strengthen your claim.

Also, you can get a letter from your colleagues in the IRCC format and get it notarized.

Hello @legalfalcon , thank you for the tremendous support and help you always provide throughout the forum.

I am reaching out to you as I am lost and not sure what my next steps are.

I currently reside in the U.S. and received PPR:
1. Received PPR email on 25th of August to send passports to Ottawa
2. Sent email response back to change VO office to Sydney as I was supposed to be travelling longer than 30+ days and needed my passport
3. Received a response from Sydney with new instructions after 10 days from sending email
4. One day later, plans to travel overseas got cancelled because of an emergency
5. Sent an email to the provided Sydney VO office requesting to change my VO back to Ottawa
6. Have not heard back from them yet, it has been over 3 weeks now

I am concerned that I have one week left before the "30 day" expiry date in the email and I have not heard back.

I even tried getting a Canadian friend to call and conference me with IRCC agent through 1-888-242-2100 but that did not work.

I was thinking of directly sending my passport to the Ottawa office with a cover letter explaining what happened. Does you have other suggestions on how to proceed?
