Hey everyone an immigration agent told me that if I ask for notes it will delay the application. Has anyone else experienced this?I'm confused
There are really only two options here: you got either an incompetent agent who doesn't know the immigration process or lazy one who doesn't want to work on your requests.
Either option is not looking good and I would not trust such a consultant.
Ordering notes does not and cannot affect processing negatively. Notes are pulled from the system by another department - not the processing officer, this is evident by the agent IDs listed when the notes are provided. When you do request notes, the fact that notes were requested does get attached to the file, so the processing officer can see the requests but it is not relevant to their work.
Regardless, to penalize an applicant for exercising lawful right to information about themselves could get such officers in trouble.
In our case, I ordered notes 3 times to track progress, our processing time from application to PPR was 10 months, and that was with overstay. If anything, ordering notes helped to speed up the processing.
