Hi everyone! Could someone please explain how to request a police certificate to the embassy? I'm currently in Canada and I have no idea how to do it :( or if there's any way my family in Mexico can ask for it on my behalf? Do your good action of the day, earn heaven and PR! ;P
We're talking about the Mexican police certificate, right? Has it been requested?
If it was requested, you should have specific instructions on how to get it included within the request letter. The instructions can be different, based on whether the application was inland or outland, and whether they think the applicant is in Mexico or in Canada. In case of applicant being in Canada they will ask for a set of documents, photos to be sent to the embassy, which will do all the work of requesting the certificate, translating it, and adding it to the case. Otherwise they will send a letter to take to PGR in Mexico directly to request the certificate, then you'd need to have it translated and send it to be included into the file.
Don't guess - just follow the instructions.

I dont know that one CANNOT be asked for an interview... they may still call for an interview and your notes would more than likely indicate why - just my two cents

Back in Canada and the day I left (Sept 5th) my wife got COPR letter. Still waiting on passports but we only sent it last week. This is now what MYCIC shows:

Application status A final decision has been made. Please see the final decision below.
Review of eligibility Your eligiblity has been reviewed. Please see the final decision below.
Review of medical results You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents We do not need additional documents.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Biometrics We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check Your background check was completed.
Final decision Your application was approved. Check your messages below for details.
Good evening!

I'm sorry to bother you. I have a question as my husband is from Honduras, like your wife I believe seeing the flag on your picture (I'm sorry I did not read all the messages/stories). ☺

Do you know, even if in your case it was not necessary, where the interviews take place? Tegus?

What does the letter state when they ask for the passport? Is the passport sent to Mexico? What's the easiest/efficient way to send the passport? How long does it take for them to return it to the person in Honduras?

We deposit our file in March 2017 and the process in Mexico is started since June 15, we are starting to be a bit desperate, I know some people are waiting longer, but I'm very stressed out and starting to feel hopeless!

I thank you very much for your attention

Have a good night

I hope so too that all is OK in visa office. I texted my friend in Puebla and he said many people are still trapped in old buildings. Hopefully the visa office is more modern and withstood the quake better.

Prayers for all in Mexico and those of you here whose family are over there!

Fuerza Mexico!

1 - Interview was waived.
2 - Sent passport using DHL. Total time since sent was 10 days to get passport back. DHL knew exactly what to do. Went to the one near City Mall/Airport.

Here is the request letter for PPR:
The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 15 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, please inform us immediately by email to: mexico-im-enquiry@international.gc.ca with details concerning your situation.
STEP 1: CHANGE IN CIRCUMSTANCES:
Should any of the following circumstances apply to you or any accompanying family member, you must inform this office immediately:
 Change in marital status, for example due to marriage, divorce, legal separation, annulment or death of spouse;
 Change in family composition, for example due to adoption or birth of a child, including a child born to your accompanying dependent child,
 Death of principal applicant, spouse, accompanying children, or death of sponsoring relative;
 Change in health;
 You or any of your accompanying family members being charged or convicted of a criminal offence
 Change in contact information: mailing address, e-mail address, or telephone number.
Your failure to inform IRCC offices of any of these changes may result in the cancellation of your permanent resident visa and may render you and your accompanying family members inadmissible to Canada. Your failure to declare all of your family members, accompanying or not, will permanently exclude them from sponsorship under the Family Class regulations.
STEP 2: PREPARE YOUR PASSPORT- PASSPORT REQUIREMENTS
 Please note that if you or your accompanying family members are permanent residents of the U.S.A and a holder of a passport which requires a visa to enter Canada, you are still required to submit your passport(s).
 Please provide your passport and for each accompanying family member.
 There must be at least two blank pages in your passport(s).
 Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports or travel documents.
 All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the bio-data page must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose pages.

STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS
You must submit together:
1. One copy of this letter.
2. ORIGINAL VALID passport(s), as explained in Step 2.
3. The complete address in which you intend to live in Canada and specify your current country of residence.
4. A pre-paid airway bill which is a prepaid envelope from an international courier service company such as DHL, UPS, Fedex, etc; in order for us to return your documents. Please ensure that the courier company used has service available in Mexico. Should you choose UPS, FedEx or DHL for your shipment, please follow these recommendations:
 Via UPS: Please forward us a scanned copy of the prepaid airway bill receipt provided to you by the company (www.ups.com).
 Via FedEx: Please forward us a scanned copy of the prepaid electronic airway bill provided by the company or send us by e-mail the international account number of this company in order for the airway bill to be issued. If the account number is not registered to your name (example: registered under a friend’s name, etc.) you will have to provide us with authorization from the account holder. Please be advised that the documents will be sent to the country of origin of the account holder (www.fedex.com).
 Via DHL: Please forward us a scanned copy of the prepaid electronic airway bill provided by the company (www.dhl.com).
STEP 4: SUBMIT YOUR DOCUMENTS
All required documents must be submitted in one single package with a pre-paid airway bill, as explained above.
Your visa(s) / Confirmation of Permanent Residence document will expire on 2017/11/20. If the validity of your passport or the passport of any accompanying family member expires before this date, your visa / Confirmation of Permanent Residence document will expire at this earlier date. If it is the case, that person may wish to apply for a new passport. Please note that you must travel to Canada within the validity of your visa / Confirmation of Permanent Residence document.
We are looking forward to receiving your package within 15 days to conclude your application for permanent residence in Canada.

We also have not been asked for documents nor have we heard if we need an interview. I asked the MP to find out in August, but IRCC told their office that the visa office does not release that information and will contact the applicant if he needs one. My GCMS notes generated on August 28 in the eligibility review says review required under status, but no other indications that they might ask for an interview. However, until my eligibility passes, I won't assume that they still won't ask for an interview. We are almost at the 8 month mark in processing.

Thanks and good luck to you too! The sad part of it is that there are people who have been here even longer than us! I hope we all will hear some good news before the end of the year! Also praying that the earthquake won't add more delays for all of us going through that office ....
