Hi all,

First of all congrats to everyone who is so close to getting or got COPR!

I have a few of questions. My file was transferred to London VO on July 25th. I passed my med exam and got a message about it (and update on gckey) on July 27th. My gckey states 'in progress ' for both Background check and the application / decision altogether (I sent in my schedule A long time ago as per cpc's request). No additional docs needed. When can I expect to hear from VO? What's the next step? Did they ask you for biometrics or sent a request for your passport to issue a COPR straightaway? How do I contact London VO?

Also, I read that some of you applied for GCMS notes. Could you advise how to do that and what information does it provide in terms of PR applications?

Thanks!
Natalia

Hi Natalia,

Thank you. By the sounds of how your GCKey statuses looks like, the next step will be 'Decision Made' on ECAS. That would mean that the assessment of your entire application is complete after which the Passport Request would be the following steps. Now that being said, it will all hinge on how the assessment went and what they have found. If the officer is satisfied with everything then you're all good to go. I think the biometrics applies for some countries and not for others. It could also be requested if they think they might need it. As for my spouse from the notes it seems that they partnered with the US to get biometrics information. I have no clue why, how and how it all worked.

From communication emails from the VO, don't you have contact info (phone numbers, emails)?

You could also use thi link: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=London&_ga=2.66203374.1743448270.1505348871-1898261607.1501716518

Please note that the IRCC webform is specific to London VO.

Follow this link to instructions on how to order GCMS notes: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/atip/requests-atip.asp

It provides every step taken on your application, notes by the officer, decisions taken at every step. It's really the best up-to-date information about your application.

Here's a nice thread that explains a bit how the notes helps you understand your application better.

I hope that helps. All the best!

Many thanks for such an informative reply! :) All information you provided is extremely helpful.

I'll read about the GCMS notes and mostly likely apply for them just to be up to date as much as possible. After applying, how long does it take to get the notes?

When it comes to communications with LVO I only got the link to the webform that you kindly posted in your message too, but no other contact information. If I don't heat from them for a longer while, I'll resort to the webform. The only communications I got was the notification about file transfer that my sponsor got so far.

Fingers crossed it won't take long to hear back from LVO.

You're very welcome. :)

After applying for the GCMS notes, it takes at least 31 days to see anything. I know some people have had bad luck with that as it took longer for them but you won't know until you try.

Hopefully you hear back from them soon. Unfortunately different VOs work differently which is kinda sad but all we can to is wait, hope and try our best with whatever we can do. Fingers crossed and good luck!

We didn't need to send in the PGR. My partner is from Chile. He sent in his Certificado de antecedentes upfront with his application as per his country's instructions.
Oooh I see! How do you find the Mexico City office?

Oooh I see! How do you find the Mexico City office?
They are one of the slowest VO's. I think they are very backlogged with many applications. There is not much any of us can do but wait. I am a January applicant. I got a request for the RCMP fingerprint certificate in July (only after I asked the VO if they wanted it after seeing in the notes it was requested in March in my first set of GCMS notes). Before that, my last correspondence was in May when I got AOR2. My background check status has been saying in progress since the end of February, so I cannot go by that to figure out how much more time they might take with the processing of the application. I have ordered another set of GCMS notes, however, again, they are overdue. It seems I am out of options for trying to get information at this point and have to wait and wait some more like some others here.
