I hope everyone is doing ok. I am just starting to complete my application to sponsor my wife to Canada. Please give me some advice on what to do and not to do. Also I need my marraige certificate and my wife's tazkira translated into english. Does anyone know how long that takes in Kabul. Also, do I need to submit the orignal one or photocopy. How long does it take to reach by Canada by post from Kabul. I am so worried.

You don't need original documents, don't spend your money or waste your time to send your documents from kabul to Canada by post, your spouse should clear scan all the documents and send it to you by email, don't waste your money by post it will cost you 175$ DHL in 4 days delivery, also if you have any question you can join our Afghan skyp group in below link

don.t use canada post bro .
just use FedEx or DHL never evon thing about canada post if you want to by FedEx from Canada to AFG it will be take 1 week it same from bota said in marriage certificate if you want do it it will be take round 2 weeks

1. How long does it usually take to make that in Afghanistan?
2. Do I need to wait until they ask me to make it or can I make it ahead of time?

For medical exams:
1. Can you do them in Afghanistan?
2. Do I need to wait until they ask me or can I ask my wife to do it before hand?
3. How much does it cost?

The best time is for applying for police clearance is after 2 days of submitting of your package to immigration, police clearance will take 2 weeks from kabul.

Medical you should do once the immigration request you, and yes you can do medical in kabul with IOM. Medical will cost for a single person $332

Our issue now is flights.....it's $2190 for one way
I can't believe this.....first they make us wait 3 bloody years now they want us to pay this big cost for a one way ticket!
Does anyone know how or where I can buy a more reasonable ticket?

How did your spouse submit passport for visa from Afghanistan? By DHL or what? Please explain if you don't mind

The best time is for applying for police clearance is after 2 days of submitting of your package to immigration, police clearance will take 2 weeks from kabul.

Medical you should do once the immigration request you, and yes you can do medical in kabul with IOM. Medical will cost for a single person $332

You can go to bookingbuddy.com and compare the fares.
You can also visit ticketpilot.ca and flightnetwork.com.

If he can wait a month then look for a ticket a month away. It might be cheaper.

1) Nikahnama - Marriage Certificate -
2) Tazkira
3) Birth Certificate

All above docs must be translated into Eng. and certified by concerned Government authorities.

They returned my app because of birth certificate. I didn't had one. I followed country specific instruction and it dormant indicates BC.

A family member helped me ..

All I did, provided him with two ID fotos and Tazkira (original) it takes approx 4-7 bus days.

I am sure if you ask your family members/close relatives they will be able to guide you

Background check started on April, after a while on June we received a letter from CIC stating that background check is going through additional check and they will get back to us 4-5 months. It has been almost 3 months since we received that letter from them. Anyone else received letter like this? and medical expired on August. We heard nothing since then.
