I would appreciate if you share your experience about my question.

When we apply for Citizenship,
can my child apply for Citizenship with expired passport?

Do Permanent Residents of Canada need valid passport (given by homecountry)untill we get our citizenship?

We have our PR cards and they will bevalid when we apply. We have not leave or are not going to leave Canada untill we get Citizenship. Also she attends school now.

If you had had kind of like this issue before applying for Citizenship, could you please give me advice and/or share your experience please.

I had similar problem I called cic call centre and they told me I can submit application with explanation. When I asked if they return my application after a month or two, the representative asked me how much time required to renew and advised me to renew passports and avoid any issues. I did the same.

I sent my application with expired passport. I only explained why I did not renew it that's all.

My wife applied with 2 year expired passport. She got her citizenship last year without RQ and the whole process took 6 months.

Sorry for the late reply. I am done with the process, My oath ceremony is on October 13. There was no RQ since i never went outside Canada. I can say my file was processed fast. I am a June applicant.

Today my application status changed from AOR to In Process.
One question to you guys, If I have visited the US multiple times during the last 4 years for vacations but for a small period of times (like 2-3 days), does it mean I will get an RQ?

It depends on how frequent your visits were. In general, they are aware of people living close to the border or around the area visiting the US from time to time; either for vacation or shopping ..etc. They usually issue RQ if they suspect the person might be working in the US or having some other ties to the US that extend further than regular visits. This is why most if not all greencard holders get RQs because they appear to lack the ties to Canada required to become a citizen, and appear that they might just be a citizen of convenience who will move and settle in the states as soon as the Canadian citizenship is in the bag.

According to the spreadsheet, several applicants might have already received In Process status, but probably are not aware of it since they did not check their ecas. I am referring to Purke, luckyroyal, agshaheryar, Ttcdfolk, minta,7, Adilmk123, champ_indian, Farhan, qbsoha, and p.ny. If not, it might be updated soon. The only reason I am mentioning this is because several people think they will get an email to inform them of the change of status, but that is not how it works, you need to log into your ecas account and check.
