Dear Forum members:

Posted this question in related thread but didn't get a reply so I am creating a new thread.

Please advice me on the following:
1. The bank account that I had in my home country, opened around 2010 has no significant balance and is dormant (blocked) now because of the lack of transaction.
2. I used to live and work abroad and all my savings while i was working abroad were transferred from time to time to my parent's bank account in home country.
3. Now I have returned to my home country since last 10 months and I am unemployed. So i still don't have a bank account.

Now, considering the things above, I am trying to show entire amount of POF as a gift deed from my father. He has enough funds in his account maintained since long time and regular transactions. I have opened a new bank account in my home country (yesterday). So I will include:
1. my father's bank statement for past 6 months,
2. his balance certificate issued by bank shown in CAD,
3. a notarized gift deed
4. scanned copy of the cheque used to transfer the amount,
5. balance certificate of my new account. (after depositing the cheque given as gift by my father)
6. certified relation certificate between my father and me.

Is this good enough? Will my new bank account raise any flags? Is there anything else I will need to do to make my POF more solid?

I will not have my 6 month statement. Is that alright?

Please advice.

Thankyou very much.

P.S. I have already received my ITA and planning to submit my application next week.

Though this may not answer your all questions, I will give an input from my experience.
I showed some amount in my spouse account when she was in a different country and i showed some funds in my account in another country. This means, we showed amount in different accounts in different country.
I did not showed 6 months history for any funds. However I showed total of more amount than what the requirement is.
I got my PR

Thankyou Anoop,
So from your reply, bank statement is not mandatory.

Looking forward to other replies if a new bank account will make any difference.

Well, I cannot guarantee that. I can say I did not provided statements. Rather I provided provisional letter/bank letter showing this much is available in my savings account and FD with their bank.
I did not mentioned any where that when did i put amount etc.

It all depends on how transparent you are and how much your POF is convenience, based on my experience
However showing 6 months will not harm you and it can benefit as well.

There wont be any issue if you show the funds in a new account since the entire amount will be gifted by your father.
Make sure you add the items 1 to 5 as said by you. Certified relation certificate wont be required since your passport will have your dad's name.
Also, to be on safer side, attach a Letter of explanation mentioning all the transactions/account details and you can explain that your account is new since you were residing outside your home country.
Attach you bank statement from the date the account was opened. This should be enough.

PS : Even I had received POF from my dad and provided the above documents. It was accepted by CIC.

Thankyou anoop. Thankyou Racbii for your important contribution. So I will need 2 more things:

1. LOE explaining my new bank account.
2. bank statement from the date the account was opened.

Awesome.
