Hi All,

I have two questions about document translation.

Question 1: the IRCC R10 check web page stated that:

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with a copy of the original document as well as a version translated by a certified translator.

If a supporting document is in a language other than English or French, the applicant must provide IRCC with:

  • the English or French translation; and
  • an affidavit from the person who completed the translations; and
  • a certified photocopy of the original document.
Does this mean that, if I find a certified translator (in Canada) to translate my documents, I will not need to provide a certified photocopy and affidavit?

Question 2: If a document is bilingual in English and another language, do I still need to translate it?

Seniors, please advise. Thanks!

for question 1 it clearly says attachs the original document and photocopy, the second parts is for englishfrench
for question 2 it's obvious that since the document is in english and includes the translation then there's no need to translate it unless the content is different
