I have been waiting for a final decision to be made on my application since July even though I applied from England where the wait time is supposed to be shorter. Is my passport a factor?? And if so when can I expect a reply from them. Please can someone respond as I have acctually missed the first few weeks of school and I need to get to canada to start studies soon.

Yes - your passport may be a factor. Generally speaking, it can be a lot more difficult to be approved when you are applying from outside of your home country since it's more difficult to show proof of ties when you're in another country temporarily (I assume you're in the UK on a study permit or something like that).

The posted processing times are just estimates - actual processing can take a lot longer.

I applied from the US, when I applied, processing time was 4 weeks, this is the 7th week and I haven't heard back from them. My biomerrics was just updated yesterday, only after I sent a web mail.

I applied on July 19th and did biometric on the 21st. My classes start on Monday the 11th. I totally understand how you feel.
