Extension of Stay as a visitor

I am going to renew her passport soon. What I am looking to know as if there is any way, I can request for extension to stay in Canada or renewal of supervisa with her new passport while she stays in Canada?

I was told that you can only extend your stay if the visa is valid but then once the visa is expired you need to re applu for the new visa outside canada . Do not qoute me on this as i am still trying to find out the real answer coz im also in the same situation

Hi. Please can anyone help me out? My wife who is a Canadian citizen, and I got married back in Philippines last January 2017. Then we went to Canada to apply an inland application for spousal sponsorship. I arrived in April 1. My 6 months stay will last until October only. Am I allowed to file for extension? What if I apply and get no response when October comes? Am I going to be an illlegal?

If you got 6 months of stay at the POE, then you need to apply 30 days before the end of the 6-months period. The rule of thumb is to apply 30 days before the end of the approved duration of stay, whatever that was. I believe that If you apply too early it might get rejected. But I will leave that for the experts to comment.

IRCC recommends applying 30 days before expiry but it is not a requirement. You can apply up until your status actually expires. Wait until October.

My visa will expire this feb. 14, 2018 as a tourist, my brother had already submitted documents last december 2nd week applying for my extension. I only have 6mos. Tourist visa from August 14, 2017 to Feb. 14, 2018 together with my mom.
My question is until now no replied to canadian embassy for my extension if approved? I have my flight back ticket on february 10, 2018.
Do i have to wait for the result of my application?
