Hi,
I recieved an email today requesting that I submit passports and photographs. However I currently reside in Jamaica (where there is a consulate) but the request is for docs to be sent to Trinidad.
I am confused by this, and also there is no update on Mycic account. How do I proceed?

You can request a change of LVO. There is a specific email address mentioned in your PPR, to which you can contact them.

There won’t be any update in your account until they attach a new visa into your passport.

Thanks for responding TLOU. However I've been going through the threads in here and that address everyone keeps mentioning is not in the email I received. What's also strange is the email is asking me to provide my address, telephone # and email address. Is this PPR real? Have there been instances where persons have recieved fake PPR's?

Seems legit. What method is mentioned to send your documents? There's gotta be an email address of the Trinidad VO somewhere as they request you to update them with any change in your circumstances.

Your application for permanent residence in Canada has reached the final stage of processing and we need your passport and the documents listed below in order to make a final decision.

Please read carefully all information and instructions set out below and complete the steps accordingly.

Visa Validity:

Once issued, permanent resident visas usually expire on the date of expiry of your medical examination results, which in your case is... If there is an earlier date of expiry on your visa(s), that is because the passport validity of you or one of your accompanying dependents expires before the medical examination expiry date.

You and all your accompanying dependents must travel to Canada and present your immigration documents at a Canadian Port of Entry before they expire. The validity of the visas cannot be extended.

Required documentation:

You must submit the following documents within THIRTY (30) days from the date of this letter.

☐ Original signed valid passport for yourself and each accompanying dependent:

- Each person, including minor children, must have their own passport, and there must be at least two blank pages in each passport

- Ordinary passports are the only type of passport into which a permanent resident visa may be inserted. Diplomatic, official, and other special passports are not acceptable

- Passports that are not signed by the holder are not valid for travel

Citizens of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados and, St. Kitts and Nevis, must submit photocopies of the biodata and photo pages of your passport. You should NOT submit your original passports.

Citizens of Guyana - only machine readable Guyanese passports will be accepted.

☐Two (2) recent photographs for yourself and each accompanying dependent:

- The photos must be 50 mm x 70 mm, and must have a white background. You MUST visit the following link to obtain the EXACT photo specifications:http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3998E_tempA.pdf

- IMPORTANT: If you submit photos with incorrect specifications, the photos will be returned to you which will cause a delay in finalizing your application.

☐ Please complete the information requested on the Passport Submission Form below for yourself

Getting ready for your trip

As you have now been notified to submit your travel documents in preparation for the issuance of a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR), you are strongly encouraged to obtain free pre-arrival services funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). A variety of online services and in-person sessions are available to you, your spouse and your dependants. These services will help you understand life in Canada, employment and how to access other free settlement services once you arrive.

To learn more about free pre-arrival services that you can access before you leave, please visit the IRCC website: www.cic.gc.ca/english/newcomers/before-services.asp . Please note that in order to access these services, you must show a copy of this letter to the service provider. In-person orientation sessions are very popular and space is limited. We encourage you to register early to secure a spot in an upcoming session.

As you may know, Canada is a bilingual country where both French and English are spoken. If you are interested in living in French, you can get information about Francophone life across Canada by visiting: Canada.ca/francoimmigration.

You are encouraged to take advantage of free IRCC resources available online. Welcome to Canada, the official handbook to help permanent residents prepare to come and settle in Canada, is available at cic.gc.ca/publications. You will also find the videos entitled “Before You Arrive in Canada” and “Your First Two Weeks in Canada” on the IRCC YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/CitImmCanada , which provide key information you need to consider before coming to Canada and just after you arrive. The Living in Canada tool, which provides you with a personalised settlement plan and identifies the closest Immigrant-Serving Organization offering the services you need, is available at http://www.cic.gc.ca/lctvac/English/index.
