Common (and trusted) web sites for finding jobs in Canada include: indeed, linkedin, monster and workopolis.

EDIT: Make sure your employer knows up front that you require a work permit and need them to obtain an approved LMIA.
Let`s get real for a moment. WHO is going to pay these taxes you are referring to, to hire me? I have an Economy major but have no experience, Im 54 years old and I can only work as a cleaner, clerk and so on. These are jobs no one will ever go through the hassle to hire a 54 y/o man. I`ll keep on playing my old guitar with my old raspy voice and hope I wont die through this Winter. :) Thanks for all the answers!

I can't argue with you. I do think it's very unlikely you'll be able to land a job offer.

Make sure you apply to extent your visitor visa before you hit the six month mark to avoid going out of status in Canada.

Yes, 99 percent of Romanian individuals are declined refugee status simply because it doesnt add to the publicity. Dont get me started, please. I`ve seen Syrians risking their lives and their children`s lives to travel AN OCEAN just to get on American land. The refugee stream doesnt help with nothing. Women have been raped, men have been killed, children have been kidnapped and so on. Trucks have been crashed, drivers have been mauled. Just.... please... dont get me started.

Europe as it is closer for Romanians is also closer for Syrians to seek refuge, yet they seek it in Canada and USA, an ocean away. Why should other be denied the right to be granted refugee status an ocean away if they are not being treated equally in their home country. My college degree is useless because my country is in ruins economically with a wage of 300 euros per month when RENT is 300 euros per month. You can do the math.

You want my honest opinion? Just from one month since I have been here, I have been treated 10 times better than in my home country. People are nicer, the city is nicer and the MONEY is NICER, even though I havent had a chance to get a REAL job yet.

Why should I, or any other Romanian for that matter live in misery his whole life in a political and economical war in a country that never appreciates people whether they have a college degree or a high school degree.

People want to work, I WANT to work, legally and be treated as a human in this beautiful country. I dont plan to steal, I dont plan to live on social welfare I dont need SPECIAL HELP, I dont need refugee camps and hundreds of millions of dollars pumped into refugees. So no, its not fair and this is my final opinion, you can have yours of course.
Do you even understand what is happening in Syria and why Canada is taking in these people? These people are fleeing persecution, war and death. They are not seeking status in Canada; they are seeking status in a safe country ANYWHERE they can find it. They don't get to just pick and choose which country they go to; they are placed with whatever country can take them.

You are an EU citizen. You have the right to work and live in a multitude of developed, safe, stable nations. Syrian refugees don't. Comparing yourself to them is ridiculous.

And categorically stating that the Syrian refugees have "no studies" and "will pull the country down" while also stating how discriminatory Romanians are...well, perhaps you aren't so different from those other Romanians after all.

Perhaps not, guess the cold is affecting my judgement. I can ONLY speak English, what countries in Europe speak English exactly? Maybe the cold is also affecting my memory. If I can barely find a job in an English speaking nation, how would you expect me to find a job in a non english speaking country? Im 54 years old. Do you think I can just learn a totally new language all over again? No, they are not. My uncle got mauled by a Syrian citizen and I dont trust them since. He took his watch, his wallet and pretty much everything he had valuable on him. Are they all like this? Probably not, but how I am desperate so are they and with that I`ve said everything there is to say. I`ve met them, I`ve been to the Middle East, so YES I do know how most of them are, you on the other hand, probably not. :)

If they`re placed in whatever country`ll take them, why are they fleeing our country? I mean, yeah, I know why, cuz not even Syrians like this country but WHY are they fleeing if this is where they were sent?! Europe is dying because of them and you know this very well but just as I dont have any experience in Economy, you dont have any experience with them like I do. What do we know about EXPERIENCE? Its better than knowledge or feelings.

So no canuck I dont have the right to work in UK either, because UK no longer hires Romanians. I do have the right to work in other countries but with great diffic. and sometimes not even at all, not even mentioning they DO NOT speak English so I cannot understand them. What does the natural way of things say? That if I know English I should seek English speaking countries to work.

You`re trying to "teach me a lesson" an old man, probably older than you are. But listen, there is nothing to teach me anymore. There is nothing that makes me less important than syrian refugees, nothing. We are all humans, we all deserve the same treatment.

The truth is that FOR NOW, I am stuck here and to be honest I like it here. So unless you want to come personally, grab me by the hand and put a foot in my ass out of Canada. I`m staying and I`m going to do my best to make enough money to survive and eventually either renew my tourist visa to busk some more or leave for America to hotter climates. But I do sense a little bit of aggression coming from you. I know you dont want me here but for now I am here legally so as much as you`d like me out, Im not going out. Well I CANT go out... hahahah

I dont like the tone of this conversation. Every country has it own rules. To start picking them apart will destroy your sense of reality.

Yes and I respect that. I`m just not ok with it. Its a difference, as I said its just my opinion on it. The guy I was arguing with was basically telling me I matter less than other people because my country is not getting bombed and was urging me to seek other countries in Europe since Im an European. But what he didnt understand was that I do not speak other languages other than English, so it would be hard if not actually impossible for me to find my way around those countries. And since the UK is no longer a part of the EU and even if you still can travel there, my kind is not welcomed there, I can assure you.

Your comprehension of your situation vs. the situation of Syrian refugees is just sad.

You can expect a visitor extension in Canada to be refused based on lack of funds.

Guess they`ll have to pay for my flight back then or just let me be out of status forever.

It's quite possible you could end up in a deportation situation - in which case Canada will pay for your flight back home if you can't. However ideally you want to avoid this. Once you have a deportation on your record, it will effectively be impossible to return to Canada under any sort of temporary status and the deportation will also impact your ability to enter other countries.

You`re right. Guess my last option is to find some work so I can leave with my own money. In truth, there have been a couple of employers who said they could "arrange" some things if I really needed to work, but never agreed. Guess that`s my last option.

You have nothing to lose by talking to them. Maybe something will work out. The one thing you must not do is pay someone money in exchange for a job. Not only is it illegal for someone to charge you money in exchange for arranging a job - it's almost always a scam (i.e. you lose your money and there's no job).

Please just start reaching out to community groups that will help you get free legal advise. You sound very depressed to me. I dont think you really hate anyone deep down. It just seems like you are in a dark place

I dont... I dont hate anyone. I love this country, I love these people and people in general. That guy is just really good at making me angry and as I said it`s 11 degrees C now, I meant it when I said the cold is affecting my thinking. I`ll get a place to stay this weekend through airbnb but only for the weeknd. Hopefully I`ll get more time to find a better solution or talk with some people that might want to help me with some work.

Thanks for your help, ALL of your help, even that unnecessarily mean guy. As I said I can only speak English, the natural way of things is to always seek countries who also speak your tongue. I wish I knew other languages, but this is the only one I know perfectly so I can understand, speak and possibly work for anyone.

Ireland. Ireland is a member of the EU and they speak English there. You can live and work in Ireland with no visa required.

Canuck was not being "unnecessarily mean". He was being honest and sharing his opinion (and I might add useful information). Oh, and I'm older than you.

I can actually. Never thought about it. Although this was never about immigrating to Canada, this was about me making enough money to leave. Its true, its my fault I spent the money on things that maybe I didnt need and now I dont have enough to go back. I should of also booked a two way ticket plane but I didnt know honestly if I was going to stay 1 month or maybe 1 month and a half. When I have calculated my expenses I had enough for almost 2 months, but when I came here things were quite different so I lost more money than I expected.

All in all, I cant leave, not now at least. I do actually miss my country, actually I miss my home more than I miss my country. But I gotta stick around some more. I just wanted to find a way to work LEGALLY because as I said I am a man of honor and dont like to cheat other Canadians, but as other members pointed out I cant, there is no way for me to work legally the time being so in order for me to leave I have to accept to work like this. Its actually a lot of employers who would like to hire me without all those taxes thingies. Its not fair, not for me, not for Canadian citizens but I have to leave. :)
