we want to renew our PR but we have some questions that everyone answers them differently and we are confused.

1. Is landing period counts as part of 730 days?
2. When we send our documents do they go straight back 5 years? Like if we send the documents 20 June 2017 they count the days since 20 June 2012?
3. During this last 5 year we went to our home country and then we were banned from getting out for more than 2 years. Can this help in our situation(if the they don't count the landig period then we have 690 days only)? If yes, how do we send these documents about not being able to come to Canada?

Thanks

They will calculate 2 out of last 5 years. Better to stay 2 years and apply for PR card renewal.

I'm curious about the Number of Days required for PRC renewal. Currently is it 730 days?

After reversal of Bill C-24 - how will it change? I know bill C24 is not passed yet and I'm not sure when, perhaps before December 2017?
Does anyone know?

Many thanks.

Are you saying you were banned from leaving your home country? You had a PR card or could get a PRTD.

It won't have any impact. The bill is a citizenship bill. Absolutely nothing to do with the PR residency requirement.

Hi Scylla,
Thanks for the response. So is there any other bill - or any other law that was promised by Liberals, that will have impact on Residency Requirement? Will the residency requirement stay the same - 730 days - or is there any leniency expected in either number of days or any other Residency Requirements.

Many thanks for sharing your knowledge.

No - there's no bill or law. There are no changes planned to the 730 day PR residency requirement.

2 out of 5 years is already ridiculously lenient.

Yes. In Most of the countries if we are away more than 6 months, we will loose our PR.
