Hi everyone! I have a question regarding the police certificate. I left my home country when I was 17 to come to Canada, and haven't been in any other country for 6 months or longer. What should I provide when they ask for this document in the application? Letter of explanation mentioning this situation?
Thanks for the help!

You have to provide PCC for all countries that you have visited after reaching 18 years of age or within past 10 years whichever is later, and where you stayed for 6 months or more.

That doesn't answer my question though. Again: left home country at 17, been living in Canada for the past 5 years since, haven't been in any other country for more than 6 months, haven't been back to home country since I came to Canada.

Bumping.

"You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18."

You have to provide PCC for all countries that you have visited after reaching 18 years of age or within past 10 years whichever is later, and where you stayed for 6 months or more.
There is no where in CIC website saying police cert "...within past 10 years" or so. Please don't spread the wrong info. It will lead to someone being rejected.

If you haven't been in any any other country for more than 6 months as you say, then you don't need a Police Certificate. Note that 6 months don't have to be at once but cumulatively, i.e If you've been in another country for 4 months, you leave and re-enter same country to stay another 2 months, then you need a PCC from that country.
