Hello,

This is for a friend applying for PCC in the US. He resides in LA. So there is no Indian consulate close by. So he will have to mail his docs with notarisations for whatever necessary. My question is does he have to send all his old passports as well? Two what is the processing time?
Appreciate your response.

Thank you.

I used the Indian consulate in Chicago. Download the application form from consulate website, attach all supporting documents like US legal status proof notarized, US address/residence proof notarized, I believe they ask for original current Indian passport along with the application. They will place an entry in the passport in the last few pages about PCC request for Canada.

Whole process took me 2 weeks in Feb 2017. I used mail, if you go in person perhaps you can save on shipping time.

Only current valid passport, they don't need all old passports.

Great! Thanks a tonne. Also are you doing your PR application by yourself? Or maybe the more relevant question is of you already got your PR?:)

Thanks

Yes, I did application/paperwork myself. Passport is currently in Ottawa for final PR stamp. Single applicant, no dependents, no Canadian experience or job offer.
