Got an update in my account today and not really sure what it means. I submitted 14th July, hadn't heard anything. Today in my account I got assigned a UCI number. The background check also changed to "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." However, my medical is still at "If you need a medical exam, a message with instructions will be sent to you."
I thought it was supposed to be the other way around (medical first)? Additionally, on the home page of CIC once I'm logged in, it shows my application and says "Your action is required", but there's nothing I can do?
Any ideas?

No, that process is standard but it can be different for some applicants. You are at IP1 Stage and soon after Medical Pass (Expected next week), it will change to NA2. You will have to wait for few days to get your application back to the standard format. Good Luck
People , Plz help me to throw some insights on this issue

Shouldn't you be more worried for your partner's health right now?

My Spouse also had it. However, We passed medical exam without a problem or additional requests.
The doctor that did our tests called us to say the results. He explained that it is very normal for women to have some blood in urine (obviously depending of the amount found), and it is normally related to contamination during collecting the urine sample and/or menstrual period (if she just came out of it).
He also explained that what CIC is looking in the urine is venereal diseases ( like syphilis), so it wouldn't matter for them a little blood. CIC is looking for serious health problems that can be a burden as soon as you get to Canada, and not simple health issues that can be easily fixed.
It shouldn't be a issue for you and your wife. It may just take more time because of the additional tests requested
brother, thank you so much for the reply. Can you please tell me what are the additional tests they may request. Please and kindly tell me in more details.. she was having mensturation period due on first of next month.

I really don't know which additional tests they may request because CIC did not request any for me.
I was really worried about that because it took me 30 days to pass the medicals. I reached IP1 before passing medicals and only last Friday I passed medicals and reached NA2. ( have a look at my timeline in my signature)
My application was just refused because I didn't upload Drivers License histories (in Australia). Trying to get it sorted now. If i reupload, does the whole process start again? Do I have to be invited to apply? Is there a number I can call with questions

And then nothing special so far
I'm kinda worried about that
