Please Suggest- Tourist

Hello, I would appreciate your feedback- I am a 24 year single male who recently was refused a student visa citing other reasons- I do not wish to apply for a student visa again but a tourist visa next year to visit my cousins and aunt.

My profile is
1.) Currently working
2.) Income tax returns filed
3.)Registered for a masters course in India via distance education after the rejection
4.) I have around 30000 CAD saved in banks
5.) have a car
6.) investments in the form of mutual funds
7.) have visited Singapore , Dubai , NZ- before the student visa refusal
8.) Have a girlfriend- but won't marry till at least 30.

So will I face any difficulties getting a tourist visa next year to spend easter with cousins in Canada. They can give me a invite letter

2. How long have you been working at your current employment?

3. Your Masters program through distance education + your long-term plan of marrying your girlfriend at 30 won't help as reasons to return to India.

4. Hope your bank balance matches your income/ITRs

5. Have you taken a loan to purchase the car?

6. Except for NZ, countries like Singapore and UAE don't count as travel history.

7. Are your parents dependent on you financially or for their well-being?

8. Do you own property or land or have a down payment for a property? Or a rent agreement in your name?

-- I'll apply next year maybe in Feb. Visit during Easter maybe for 15 days- as I can't use up all of my annual leave for the holiday

2. How long have you been working at your current employment?
--This job currently 7 months. Total experience is 2.5 yrs now

I have put across my answers below ur questions and by the time I apply in Feb I should be having more than 40k CAD. Should I attach my parents property worth over 1 crore? I am the only child currently living with them in India. Don't know if this accounts as an asset to me. I can show my parents ITR of over 40000 CAD annually also but I don't think their salary will help me as I am an adult too

I must say Canada is quite strict in visa issuance- do u think I stand a better chance booking a tour package by a popular travel agent and visit Canada- this option would be costly but I don't mind spending don't want another rejection

Bryanna, I have an interesting update, My parents lodged the tourist visa for me last week- I thought they were kidding but they really applied online- today I got an passport request update in CIC? Is this a good sign ? I suppose I should have applied non spp for my student visa I could atleast show my finances to enhance my profile- anyways thanks for your help again. My parents showed total assets of over 2 crore and my employment contract and savings

I have my USA visa interview this week hope that goes well as well then can visit entire North America I thought a student visa refusal will always lead to rejections in future- I was proved wrong. I have proved many wrong now..a 24 year old single employed with no own property Indian is now going to tour North America solo and visit few family members. The student visa refusal had really made me sad but god always has other plans for u.. all the best guys

That's great news. In nearly all cases, a passport request indicates a TRV will most probably be issued.

Your parents surely had a wonderful surprise for you.

Hi Aashima, In my application I attached my savings bank statement of around 30k CAD, my mutual funds , my pay slips, appointment letter, old company experience letter, ITR, my parents attached their ITR, a copy of their will stating 50% if the property is mine. A covering letter indicating that my student visa was rejected due to course mismatch and a brief discription of my past travels-

Attached that I am a member of the roctract club and the social issues I am involved in making India a better place.

My advise to young Indians make your application stating your achievements in India and how u plan to achieve further success in India.

And you can take help from experienced people in this forum who are really very helpful. Cheers

An update- Sent my passport today early morning- just got my passport back from the courier- it consists of a multiple entry visa valid till passport expiry.. - tourist visa seems very quick

Which visa office did you apply to and where are you based?

Did u get visa in a week? For how long did u ask for visa like duration time ? And if u applied in August did u ask visit for Sept. Or later than that? Pls reply these 3 questions
