Hello everyone,

I applied for my wife's immigration visa in Pakistan after the Dec 2016 changes. Good news! Processing times have decreased substantially!!!

I took my time to complete the file making sure that each and everything is EXACTLY as stated on IRCC website!

So here's my timeline:
  • 7th March, 2017 --> Application received by CPC Mississauga (Notified by text message)
  • 21st March, 2017 --> File number & UCI allotted, and file linked online.
  • 30th March, 2017 --> Received request for Schedule A form, Police certificate, and Medical. Also got approved to be eligible to sponsor.
  • July 14, 2017 --> Request to send passport to London office. Visa stamped and passport returned within a week.
So the application to visa time was literally 4 months!!!

Please let me know if anyone has any queries, I'll try to answer by my experience.

Best of luck everyone!
Cheers.

Your question was answered in another thread. No one can tell you. More documents might be needed, file could be transferred.... not one single person here knows what will happen with your application

After medical, now is the time for the background check. In my case medical was approved around April 20th. So it took less than 3 months for that check to be completed.
No change in status would be seen because as per CiC the case is in London office and they only notify you once the check is completed or if they have any issues with it.

Yes you're right, because I called them too for status updates but they replied me the same thing. And the only time they would contact London office to inquire is when the application exceeds the normal processing time, that is, one year.

I'm having some difficulty in filling out that. Can't figure out what, where and how to add o_O
There is an update sheet which will let you add you details after which the admin of the sheet will add it to the relevant month. You could also post your timeline here and I can add you to the March sheet.

I need advice ... my application was submitted on 6 jan 2017 for spousal sponsorship of my husband who is outside of canada.

Medical requested was in Oct 2017. In November 2017 they asked for PR fees and documents from past employer. Submitted those as well. Now waiting since then.

I contacted my MP (jan 15 2018) and they sent a request for an update to London visa office to which they responded that the file is in security check. The eligibility and medical is Passed.

How long should I wait or should i apply for gcms notes on file. I applied through a lawyer but he is asking 300 cdn $ to do that .... Can I apply it on my own
