Hello guys,

I wanted to share my timeline, I am an inland applicant:

1. Application Received............17-11-2016
2. AOR Received......................19-02-2017
3. Med's Requested..................05-04-2017
4. Med's Done...........................21-04-2017
5. GCMS Notes Requested.......24-07-2017
6. GCMS Notes Received.........22-08-2017

Yesterday I received my GCMS notes:

Eligibility, Criminality & Medical: Passed
Security: Not Started
Office: Centralized Intake Office

According to multiple posts in this forum, the Security Assessment never shows in the GCMS notes, or shows as not started (as in my case), so I am hoping to get the DM soon, Right now people that applied in September 2016 are getting it, so it'll be my turn probably in October.
What is is your my CIC status showing ? Security under progress ?

My CIC says:

* Application status: We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
* Review of eligibility: We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
* Review of medical results: You passed the medical exam.
* Review of additional documents: We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details.
* Interview: You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
* Biometrics: We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes.
* Background check: Not applicable.
* Final decision: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.

There is a glitch with My CIC because in the additional documents field, it says "We need more documents to continue processing your application. We will send you a message with more details." Although I haven't received any message, this has been reported in this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/additional-documents-status-changed-any-insights.507392/

Your background check check status "Background check: Not applicable." is it same from starting ? or it was "We are processing your background check" any time in past ?

The starting day is the day you get the AOR, and it seems that the due days is just 1 year later. I have a question whether you got the Medical Request.

Thanks for the advice, but the major issue here is that how can I make sure my file is opened by a VO and he is actually processing my application?? Otherwise, all other actions will look vague to me at the moment since no one touch my file......
After your submission, they will give you an automatic reply.

For countries visited in past, PCC should be generated after last visit.
This is not 100% accurate. It's has to be generated after you last lived there.

You had me worried, I have lived in the USA, and I have visited since I got my FBI clearance ;-) All good though.

In other news...anyone got MR recently....?

You do not need to re-submit PCC.

In case you still decide to re-submit PCC, then please note that in my case I had submitted my PCCs after AOR and from GCMS notes I can see that PCCs were added to my file even though my file was not being worked upon.

I agree. My last post on this matter might be misleading.

Here is text from CIC website:

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

  • are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.

check if you have any extra requirement pending,,,

in my case, review of additional documents, they sent me a letter asking me more information about my relationship, pictures, other forms to fill out, etc
then my status changed

Yes
Does CIC care about expiry date on PCC? I am unable to recall reading any post/thread in this forum where an applicant has been asked to re-submit PCC due to expiration.

For Canada, CIC does not want you to submit PCC upfront. They will ask for PCC only if RCMP Screening does not return definite match.
For Country of residence at the time of submission of application,PCC should be at most 6 months old.
For countries visited in past, PCC should be generated after last visit.

do you mean countries resided or countries visited? I think its PCC for countries you have lived/resided in for over 6 months. If you just visited a country maybe for leisure or business you do not need a PCC for that country as u never lived there. CIC considers you a resident of a place or country if you are/were legally allowed to stay there. if you have a visitor's status you are not a resident
