Hi,
I have a work experience with same NOC in the last 10 yrs.....but it is from july 2008 to may 2010 and another experience is from april 2011 to august 2012.....there is a gap of 10 months during which time i was unemployed.I created my Express entry profile by entering this information. So the express entry profile when submitted calculated my overall score as 441..taking the experience as 3 yrs plus....it did not consider the gap.
A friend told me since my work exp is not constinuos and is with a gap it would be considered 2 yrs and on CRS tool it was fetching me a score of 416.
Will the gap of 10 months be a problem?
There was no provision for entering the gap yrs anywhere when creating the express entry profile. However somebody told me that work exp should be continuous.i was considering tht it would be calculated as 2 yrs n the score would come 416....i have entered correct information in my profile....since there is no way i can enter gap years....i hope this doesn not be considered as misinterpretation at later stages if i get ITA based on the score.what am i suppose to do?

I dont think the Gap is an issue. What ever experience you have and what ever gap you have, they just need 3 years of experience. Any experience more than 3 years our side Canada do not add any value to increase points.
When my application was filled, my spouse being primary applicant, she had a gap of 2 years. The latest experience was 2.5 years and not 3 years. So we showed this latest 2.5 years and experience before the gap period as well. The application was accepted.

(This is based on my experience and you may take decision yourself)

Thank u....i just wanted to know does the express entry profile offer any provision for entering the gap as well....i didnt see it any where.
If the provision is not there how can one enter the gap?
And points are also being calculated based on information filled......we have nothing to do with it just enter the work exp durations.they do not ask us for entering the yrs of experience instead they ask for duration of work history.

In CRS point calculator, you will get only points based on your 3 year experience.
Once you fill application and you receive invitation, you will have lot of forms to fill. In that you will providing work history..where you will have option to mention gap and all.

There also, only 3 years work experience and proof need to be submitted for calculating your points. Any more experience will help you on ground, but not in point calculation
