Hi , I'm currently working and living in Thailand holding Philippines Passport , I got married to Canadian Citizen just this year here in Thailand. My husband work in Canadian Army Forces and he lives there . Now my case , I have planning to come to Canada this November as TRV and I have plan not to turn back to my country or even in here in Thailand. Is my husband can extend my stay there in Canada if my TRV got expired , can we apply inland spouse visa even I'm holding TRV ?
Please reply asap .thank you and god bless xx

Yes, once in Canada with TRV you can apply for PR and OWP using INLAND method, and you can then stay legally in Canada for entire duration of processing.

Note when coming to Canada with TRV, you still need to act like a visitor so should have return flight and luggage suitable for a visitor. You must not make CBSA think you will "move" or "live" in Canada while entering on a TRV.

Yes there may be a big complication, as an INLAND app requires that sponsor and applicant are living together inside Canada for entire duration of processing. Him being gone for 6 month, would violate this condition.

However I'm not sure how absence of Canadian sponsor due to military service is seen. Perhaps there is an exemption here, I really don't know. But you may need to consider an outland application instead depending on the confirmed answer. Others may be able to advise, or you could try calling CIC help centre although they are sometimes pretty useless on these kinds of topics.

i would anticipate having difficulty getting the TRV in the first place. Given that you are married they will assume you are probably not a real visitor.

Hi ! I hope is not going to happen .. I just give my documents to my agent such as marriage certificate, certificate of work from my company here , my bank statement , work permit , letter sponsorship from my husband, and passport both applicant. I have been to travel to other country already , the plan is once my TRV approved from the embassy I will quit my job and cancel my visa here in Thailand and not to turn back. I hope everything will be okay .. and thank you for this information and Yes you could be right ..

Thank you and Godbless

It is pretty common for spouses or girlfriend/boyfriends to be refused a TRV if they anticipate you will be applying for a PR so I would think of my plan b just in case. If you look on the forum you will see many examples of spouses trying to enter Canada and being refused. Best of luck!
