Biometrics for Express Entry applicants

I've been searching forums for hours, still cannot find anything in this regard.

Are express entry applicants (from those select special countries) asked to provide biometrics before getting their visa ?

Usually no. Its not a standard procedure for now, but they can still request biometrics or even an interview. This varies depending on each individual case.

They didn't take mine. But then I had a visitor visa from before and for that I gave my biometrics at VFS.
