Very strange. It's explicitly mentioned on CIC website that birthday between ITA and e-APR will not impact CRS. How did you get to know about this?
I just checked my "Express Entry Application" - Pre ITA -- in "Check status and messages"

Did you have your birthday before ITA? I am asking because you mentioned Pre ITA.

Dear @legalfalcon ,

Please guide me on the following issue:

I received PPR a few days ago. My wife is a medical doctor and her name includes Dr in her passport. Since it is a title and not her name I did not include the Dr title in the application. The CIC status page also lists her name without the Dr title. Also I had included an affidavit with our application mentioning that Dr is a title which she attained after getting her medical degree and also listed a nickname she has.

Now after attaining PPR and while filling out the Appendix B I am now confused as to whether include the Dr title or exclude it when filling out the name and also writing on her photo. Your help regarding this would be much appreciated.

No. I got my ITA on May 17 and AOR on July 24th. My birthday is July 22
In that case, your points at ITA should not decrease for age. The best way to know what point they have counted is ordering your GCMS notes.

This is incorrect.

Points do decrease due to birthdays between ITA and eAPR submission, this decrease in points is completely irrelevant and even if the applicant's new score falls below the cutoff score it won't result in rejection.

Thank you for clarification. So it decreases but doesn't impact the application. Good to know.

Hi,
Me and my spouse both are Indian citizen but our son is Canadian as he was born during our visit to Canada. While filling an application after receiving ITA, i have mentioned he is Canada citizen and residing in India. Now when i moved to next page - checklist, here, CIC is asking fees for his PR. But my understanding is, it shouldnt be. Please correct me.

Thanks.

Hi,
In checklist, It asks for multiple document in Passport/Travel documents. I have only mentioned 1 passport. I am not sure, why it is asking multiple documents.
Is it because i was in Canada, so do i need to upload WP as well ?

Also i was in other countries but for those, do i need to upload as well ?

Thanks

Dear Legalfalcon,

I am into my ITA stage, I have got a reference letter from my past employer where I worked for almost 3 years.
I have everything covered in the letter except all my designations. it only shows my last working designation.

I was Assistant Systems Engineer - Trainee --> Assistant Systems Engineer -->Systems Engineer.
But the letter shows only my Last designation i.e. Systems Engineer

Can you suggest if this is a problem? or what can I do in this case so it won't cause any troubles to my profile.

Thanks.

Problem in eligibility as in for express entry 2174 candidate?

What should I do to fix this issue? I have already received my AOR.
Yes, there are different stages of an application, and the eligibility is the most important. You can read on the different stages here - https://www.getgcms.com/blog/express-entry-application-processed/

You can't do much now. But keep a track of your application and see if the agent has any notes with regard to your reference letter. You should order GCMS around 40 days post AoR.

Got an email titled Ready for Visa / Prêt pour Visa, sent at 21:03 Toronto time.

There is no update in my IRCC account and the status is exactly the same as before. (Review of additional documents: The additional documents you provided are being reviewed. Background check: We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.)

The email asks for the following.

What is strange is that information has been provided in the email for residents of the following countries, although I moved from Singapore to Canada on 15 July while my partner has always lived in the Netherlands for the past year. The information is so as if I had never left Singapore although I have updated the IRCC multiple times about my move to Canada.
  • SINGAPORE
  • MALAYSIA
  • BANGLADESH
  • CAMBODIA
  • INDONESIA
  • THAILAND
  • VIETNAM
  • BRUNEI/EAST TIMOR/LAOS/MYANMAR/OTHER COUNTRIES (not listed above)
  • CANADA
I cannot choose to send my passport to Canada, because the following is required.

This is rather stupid. My partner and I will have to send everything to Singapore while neither of us lives there!

It also says the following in the email.

I have the following questions. Thank you in advance.
  • Is this the PPR?
  • I have read somewhere that citizens of visa-free countries do not need to send their passports physically. Is it no longer true? Both of us are Dutch citizens.
  • Should I first ask my partner to send her photo and passport from the Netherlands to me in Canada, and send both our documents together to Singapore, or should we send our own documents separately from Canada and the Netherlands respectively?
Did the email come for the following addresses - IRCC.CPCO-FinalRequest-CTDO-DemandeFinale.IRCC@cic.gc.ca or a similar one, then yes this is the PPR.

Citizens of visa free country do not need to send their passports. But follow the instructions in the PPR, and if they are not applicable to you, send an email and clarify.

You can request that your partner is in Netherland and would like to submit the passport there, IRCC will send you the instructions for it.

Congratulations!

Does anyone know why some files are sent to a local visa office and some others are processed in Canada?
Workload and the nature of the recommendation during eligibility by the case analyst.

hello LegalFalcon
I have a question.

I am staying and working in Qatar. My AOR was in June 20 and I've passed medicals. I'm planning to leave and go back to my country and what if I get my PPR just exactly before I'm able to notify CIC of a change in my address? the date i'm planning to leave may or may not coincide with a PPR date. so I'm quite confused. And if I leave, my LVO changes and hence submitting PP will be a hassle.
I know it sounds quite complicated. any suggestions on what can be done ?
Thanks
You should only notify of address change after you leave the country and not in anticipation. In an eventuality that you get PPR right when you are about to move, you can inform IRCC and they will change your VO and send you new instructions for the country you will move to.
