Hi All, I am just going to apply visitor visa for my parents from India. The very first document they are asking for Business registration no. but in India as a sole proprietor business there is no registration no.
That's not true.
A Sole Proprietor business/company must be registered under the 'Shop Act' and a 'Shop Act License' is issued.
Pre-July 2017, the sole proprietor was expected to further register the business/company for VAT, CST, Service Tax, Profession Tax (this one depends on the state where the business/company was operating), etc.
Post-July 2017, even a sole proprietor business is expected to register for GST. Depending on the income/turnover, the business/company may/may not file GST returns (if the income is below INR 20,00,000).... or opt for the composition scheme (up to a certain income limit).... or file returns as a regular GST payer.
And, of course, the PAN is required to be linked to the Aadhar Card.
For that. For Sole proprietor they need to have business licence no. But my parents doesn't have that. What should I do ? What other document can replace business registration no.? Does anyone did that before? If yes, then with which document? Thanks
There's no other way out other than what I have detailed above
