Anyone applied a Student Permit from Philippines?

Gandang araw sa mga experts natin sa forum na to. Sir mic-mic at kapatid at sa lahat po.

All my documents for my study permit applications are ready na to be submitted.
But i stumbled sa isang requirement for my wife's OWP application requirement - regarding sa requirement of employment reference - below are the details of her employment history..
6 years as HR Coordinator - with reference letter - no problem
3 years as Home maker - obviously no need fro reference letter - no problem
3 years Administrative Secretary sa City Hall - NO REFERENCE LETTER (I am considering not to secure it since it will be a bit difficult dahil wala kami sa pinas and might delay us for another week or 2)

Suggestion / opinion nyo po - Ok lang ba na ipasa ko application ni wife for OWP kahit kulang sya ng isang reference letter?
Meron na ba dito sa forum na naapprove ang OWP kahit kulang ang employment reference? How will the VO treat it? Or OWP applications are treated differently (more loosely) compare sa regular na Work Permit application (i mean not OWP)?

Hello po, salamat sa Dyos padaan ako sa forum na to. Currently gathering po infos para sa student permit, at sa pagback read po, medyo madami dami na po ako nagagather, pero mas mabuti po na itanong ko parin, maraming salamat in advance po sa mga magsshare ng knowledge nila:

Mga tanong ko po regarding:
1. Age - 36 yo na po ako ngaun, if plan ko po mag apply next year para ecollect ang mga documents requires kasi andito po ako sa Maldives, madagdagan po ang edad ko, malaking factor po ba eto para sa refusal? Although me nabasa po ako dito na 39yo sya while applying, pero hindi ko po kasi nabas if na approved sya, or baka na overlook ko lang.

2. Course na kukunin - Bachelor of Science in Accountancy po gradaute ko na course pero hindi po ako CPA. Plan ko po kunin is Business Administration para ma maximise po ang knowledge ko. COnfuse lang po ako, hindi po kaya magrredflag since Accountancy graduate na ako tos mag tatake ako Business Adm?

Ako dn po accountancy grad and a CPA sa pinas, and im also taking up business ad major in acctg po...na approve nman po basta e explain lang tlaga po kung pano sya mkakatulong sa sayo..

Don't worry. I am older than you and never had a problem with my application. I've graduated and found work here. They aren't allowed to refuse you based on age kasi illegal yun.

he downside of private schools po is they can lose their credential tapos hindi na sila magiging DLI and at that point, baka maapektuhan na po ang PGWP ninyo. A few years back, meron po private school sa BC yata na nag sara ang napauwi yung mga students or something to that extent po.

Not only that, CIC rules state that a private institution is only qualified to offer PGWP eligible programs if it is run like a public school. And here is where it begins to be complicated. Some face the risk na kahit me DLI yung. Private institution yung COURSE nila is not PGWP eligible. So why risk the cheaper tuition or whatever para hindi mabigyan ng PGWP after. Either clarify it with the school international department or stick to the public schools.

Bka merun po may idea dituh as to kung pwede pa- change ung address sa Study Permit. Yun po ksi nkalagay na current address sa permit ko is dun sa Alberta- based consultant namin by w/c lahat ng correspondence ko is dun din pupunta sa kanya which is nkakahiya nman din. Ung address po ksi as Alberta health at SIN, dun ginaya sa address ng Study Permit kuh. Salamat sa mkakatulong

I'm not sure. Maybe you can ask for your study permit to be amended. Pero pati SIN mo saka health card papa-amend mo rin. You should've asked for a change in address when you filed for your SIN, pwede naman yun. Hindi naman yan magmamatter masyado for your study permit or SIN, since you don't expect any correspondence from them until you are done with your course. Yung health card mo lang, mame-mail sa agent mo, hassle pa. Saka if you make a claim through that, yung correspondence din din pupunta

Hello kapatid! Tapos na po ksi ung transaction ko with our agent and we paid her already. And then its a hassle if evrytime i have mail deliveries, sa kanya pa maddeliver at kukunin pa namen from her. doble ang hassle, sa amin at s knya din compared na sa mailbox n nmen dretso sice i have updated my address. Papayag po kaya ung Service Canada papabago ko ung address sa permit at SIN kuh?

Yun nga po ung hassle eh. I've tried to acquire for an Alberta ID nung nkaraan but ung registry dituh sa Stony wont accept change address unless i have documents delivered in my name using d address dat i want since iba daw address nka reflect sa Study Permit koh

Hello po. I just want to ask lang po na need din ba kumuha ng IELTS yung SOWP ang apply kase daw need na ng ielts kapag maghahanap ng work?

Or meron po ba dito na kahit wala ielts nakakuha ng work under sowp.

Sir, may relate din po ba ito sa co-op permit? kasi sa tntarget ko pong private college walang co-op ung napili kong program... pero may nakita po akong community college na nago-offer ng same program "with co-op". same lang din po ng tuition. same province din po.. inaalala ko po kasi baka pag walang co-op, baka later on maliit ang chance na mabigyan ako ng pgwp permit?..

Yup ok lang yung latest lang meron. Regarding naman dun sa admin sec position sulat na lang ng letter na nageexplain kung bakit di makapag provide. Importante dun yung latest COE.

Congrats on getting into University of Toronto! and advance congratulations on your MBA.

Comment on things you may not bring.
We can bring dried fish (tuyo) inside Canada. It's totally fine.
I gave up my meat product along the way. My purefood tender juicy hotdog and corn beefs.
The reason is that meat products might have diseases on them and that the Canadian cow is not immune to them. They might cause an outbreak and we might not be able to taste beef for a long time. So they are really strict on meat products. Fish... well they can swim globally so there is not border for them. Hence tuyo is all good.
About bringing $10k or more. Its totally okay. You just have to declare it and tell them its the fund for your study.
