Hi,

I studied Master of Computer Science in Nova Scotia, Canada, and have been working for more than 1 year after my graduation as a software developer. I am planning to apply to PR over Express Entry. To do it, I collected all the required documents. I would like to ask one question about my medical exam.

My right eye is extremely weak, it has cataract and laziness from birth. I got a surgery when I was 3 years old and there is a lens inside my right eye, which helps me to see just a little bit. There is no further cure as far as I know. I could not read the letters during my examination and my doctor said it might be a problem for my PR application. Am I not eligible to be a permanent resident if one of my eyes is very weak? What should I do?

Thanks

"There is no further cure as far as I know". Means you won't be a burden on public finance of Canada. And as you are working, it means you will add to the finance of Canada with your tax contribution. So I think you are good. They want economic contributors not super models with perfect bodies

Obviously, this is not a transmittal disease and does not risk to others to Canada. Since, you can work with your one eye, hence it does not ask for the treatment of the second eye. Moreover, lazy eye does not have the treatment. Please go ahead with your application.

However, do check the driving license requirement. It needs vision and visual field test with both eyes open. Do you drive in canada?

ok you will not be burden, provided that your eyesight will not get worse and you will not end up completely blind. That could trigger requirement for additional assistance. So the fair answer is, depending how the medical results will be checked.
If they will recognise that there is no visible tendency to go that direction you are good to go. We are speaking about estimation of excessive medical demand next 10 years.

I am also diagnosed with a rare hereditary eye disease and my vision is not great. 6/19 and 6/30 for my right and left eye respectively. I have had this condition since childhood or even birth. It is a non-progressive eye condition and there is no treatment for this condition. I do not take any medications either. I am having my medical soon and I will bring along the report from my eye specialist to explain my condition. Do you think it would negatively affect my PR application under medical inadmissibility?

Also, I did not declare that I have a serious illness. To me it's not serious because I can still work and study as any other normal person.

Thank you.

I am suffering fom Keratoconus.
I have already treated one eye long back.
Another is untreated yet.
Should it be a concern as Medical inadmissibility?

Seeking urgent reply.

What happened to your PR application? Did you get it on your current medical condition.

just to post my experience, I have had a Retina Detachment in my left eye, which after reattachment surgeries still has poor vision and color recognition. in my medical exam, i was to pay extra to get my eyes examined specially by an ophthalmologist, who drew up a report for CIC, he didn't share the report.

up till now while i havent gotten my PR, my medical was cleared, around the same time, as others in with my AoR.
