warm greet for the day.
yesterday i submitted my application for visitor visa online . after payment was done i got a message and pdf file in which confirmation was written along with my application number.
where is also mentioned in the file
This confirms that your application has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on
__________________(yyyy/mm/dd).
When will IRCC contact me?
You are expected to provide a COPY of your passport with your electronic application. If IRCC needs your physical
passport, IRCC will request that you submit it to our office. IRCC will also contact you if we require additional information,
documents or an interview. For general guidance on what to expect, you can visit
or consult the “What Happens Next” section of the instruction guide
associated with the application form you used.

i didnt understand this line''You are expected to provide a COPY of your passport with your electronic application.''
kindly tell me what does that mean .

I too have submitted my application online 6 days ago. After 5 days i received an update in my account with Subject- Submission Cofirmation and the message you got. Then today. The next day. I received an email saying my account has been updated. When i log in, I am not seeing any new information. Just the same message that you posted. I am confused what to do. Please let me know anything.

It is their standard format. Simply means that you need to upload scanned copy of your passport along with other documents in your application. Which you have done probably as they have a specific section for uploading the passport copy. They will ask for physical passport if and when they need during the processing.

Having update email after the application is normal. When some work is done by the CIC the system triggers for an update email. Sometime there is a visible update for example the file number, UCI and status change on your profile. And sometime nothing changes on what you see. Hope it helps.
