Good luck Amit.Hi Guys .. Plannig for trip this month now .. Godwilling things should go fine..
Congratulation !Hi Guys finally I got my passport back from VO Singapore. Below is my dateline:
CSQ: Nov 2015
Sent FED: 28th July 2016
Fed Rcvd: 4 Aug16
AOR: 29 Nov16.
Med & PCC Request: 26th April 2017
Medical Recvd: 9th May 2017.
PCC sent 9th May, received 10 May 2017.
RFPR and Passport Requested 26th May 2017.
Paid RFPR 1st June 2017 and requested extension for passport submission as I applied new passport.
Sent Passport on 14th July (new passport took some time).
8th August 2017 received passport with visa.
Another note for my friend where they requested for 2nd Medical they asked my friend to sent his passport as well VO Paris. He will get his visa also maybe this month or Sept.
My advise never pay upfront the RFPR, once they ask you means background check has been conducted and your passport request will come next.
All the best for all applicants.
This Forum was very helpful.
Ciao, planning my travel to Montreal.
Take care all.
Thanks.Congratulation !
How many months of passport validity is required at the passport request date?
My passport will expire the next year (august) and i did not get MR and PPR.
Congratulations, and wish you good luck with your new life in Montreal, one question!Hi Guys finally I got my passport back from VO Singapore. Below is my dateline:

I received my RPRF request with my AoR on July 25, 2017, does this mean that my background check has been finished?
Thank you!If ur indian then ur visa office ia new delhi
Thank you!Your current country of residence determine your VO, so if you are from India your VO will be NDVO (new delhi)
Hahaha...this sort of sense of humor really helps while visiting this page; thank you...Let me confuse him/her further.
Most of the times it's the country of residence at the time of the application submission decides Visa Office but CIC can transfer your file to different VO based on work load. For ex - One of the forum member and PR applicant from India ( I believe Annie) had applied from India but her file was processed by London VO.
Coming to your Original question. You will get some sort notification in eCAS or via email regarding your Visa Office.
Dear Kikou,Nothing..........They really don't care about us...
You know, my life is freezed since I send my file. I can't work like I want, I can't move like I want, I can't study like I want....etc etc. It's not "only" a couple of time....they stole 1 year of my life because "you need to wait"Dear Kikou,
Unfortunately, we cannot do anything except for waiting and cheering up. Try to distract yourself. Sooner or later it will be your turn.
Best,
Mohsen
Spend sometime in USA immigration forum and read horrible stories of Immigrants from India waiting for Green Card since last 10-15 years. It will calm your nerves and give some perspective on how fast Canadian govt. is as compared to USA.You know, my life is freezed since I send my file. Maybe....5 years since I come here. 5 years to pay again and again...It's not the delay who bothers me...it's the priority of cases, not the same thingSpend sometime in USA immigration forum and read horrible stories of Immigrants from India waiting for Green Card since last 10-15 years.
