Hi all,
I am new to this forum. I intend to go to study in Canada next year, and immigrate to the country in the future. My academic backround includes one bachelor's degree in international business in Vietnam, and master's degree in finance in Australia. Besides, I have two years and a half working experience as an audit assistant, and one year as a financial analyst, both in Vietnam.
I am having difficulty finding the proper answers for the following issues:
- Should I enroll into a post-degree diploma in accounting or MBA based on my background? I found that both Langara and Douglas College in BC offer 2-year post-degree diploma in accounting, which makes me eligble for the 3-year PGWP as does an MBA. So I am in different between an MBA and a diploma in terms of length. The reason why I am in a dilemma is: while an MBA is more expensive, and harder for me, without Canadian experience, to land a job after graduation, it is more preferential to obtain study permit in the first place, and gain more points when applying for PR later; a diploma is cheaper and to my understanding is easier to find a job for a person without Canadian experience like me, but is hard to apply for study permit (since I have got one master in Australia, it is difficult to convice the visa office that my intention is to study only), and gain less points when applying for PR.
- I understand that when studying full time at a Canadian school, I will be able to bring my wife to the country and help her apply an open work permit. She intends to come here and work in a nail salon first, then we will buy a nail salon as soon as I can get the PR. The problem is both MBA or diploma last 2 years at most, and her work permit is valid for the amount of time. So when I complete my study and apply for PGWP, I will still be able to stay in Canada. But how can my wife continue to stay in Canada at that time? Is there any proper solution to this situation?
I would highly appreciate any recommendations or advice on the above points. Thank you very much in advance.
