Work permit extension. How do they contact?

Hey guys so in May I sent off an application to renew my work permit. My old passport expires in Feb 2018 meaning my IEC work permit was given until then.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to get in touch? I specifically asked them to email me any response as well. Just getting a bit worried here.

I sent via post, and I have no idea what the status is. I said in the application, respond via email.
