BG Stuck in IP1

Hey all -

AOR June 26th
Medical Pass July 19th
BG has been in IP1 since July 19th....

Does this seem long to you? I've seen some go to NA same day as medical passed. But the longest I've seen was a week, MAYBE 2 weeks at most to go to NA from IP1. I'm over 2 weeks at this point...

Am I just being impatient? When should I be concerned?

You are fine...my BGC stayed as IP1 until PPR....

When you open your application profile, look at background check status. IP1 ( in progress) usually starts around same time as medical pass. Thats when they check if your application is complete as in everything is included and criminality check based on provided PCCs. Then it changes back to not applicable (N/A) when IP1 is done. Thats when they start your eligibility check. Once thats done and the officer puts recommended pass, they initiate security check and your file is sent to local visa office for last approval and review by the visa officer, this stage is IP2 ( we are processing your background check). Usually PPR ( passport request for visa stamping) comes soon after IP2 if everything is smooth and the visa officer is happy and no flags in your security screening.

Please note that those are best guess abbreviations. They are in no way an accurate method to know where your application is. Order of stages can be different for different cases or streams. Some people also get approved without change in profile status.

Same here. Stuck at IP1 all the time since June. I've never seen NA.

Thats very good news. If your file is at LVO then things started moving for you. Ignore this ip1 and ip2 stuff

I just got the RPRF e-mail and paid it, but my application still shows "Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check." (which I'm assuming is IP1)

I've been stuck at "we will let you know when your background check starts" for more than 3 weeks (when my medicals were updated as passed) I'm getting frustrated as I read IP1 is within 24 hours of medicals. What can I do to check? Is it too soon to email to see where my file is at or do I wait some more?

I'm in the same situation as well. Medicals passed on July 24th and no change on my BG... still in IP1. I wonder if it is because I sent LOE for US PCC and that is delaying my process. I submit my US PCC on august 14th. When should I expect to see some movement in my case?

I haven't sent any LOE yet just waiting. It's getting confusing lol I added my info on immitracker. You can do so to check for others in the same case. A bit of a relief

Hey, all!

I got my PPR!!

Turns out that my application had actually been in NA that entire time, but the status never updated from IP1. I was going to give it 60 days From AOR before I contacted CIC, but then a week before my 60th day it cleared!

So don't give up hope! I've noticed this has been happening more so with U.S. candidates, but it could happen with others as well. I recommend giving it the 60 days before ordering notes or contacting CIC.
