Hey guys, I am a US citizen. I recently received a remote job and I live in Seattle. I've always wanted to live in Vancouver. I understand that I can enter for up to 6 months at a time. Will immigration have an issue with me living in Vancouver and renting a place for 6 months and entering and exiting Canada once a month during that time span?

I have no intention of moving permanently or becoming a citizen.

You may enter up to 6 months at a time. The period of stay depends on the officer assessing you.

They will have concerns. People cannot just say "I have always wanted to live", they need to have a valid reason to stay in Canada. SO you will be asked each time why are you in Canada, what is the purpose of your visit and will ask from you evidence that you are not trying to do something you are not supposed to (work, immigrate, etc.).

Yes - sooner or later they will have an issue and you can expect they will stop you from entering the country and tell you that you have to stop spending so much time in Canada. You cannot live in Canada as a tourist - all you can do is visit. What you are proposing to do is living in Canada and will be regarded as an abuse of visitor privileges. A visitor is someone who spends the majority of their time outside of Canada.

Note that whether you're allowed into Canada and for how long is up to the CBSA officer you encounter at the border. Six months isn't always given. Sometimes people are allowed in for a far shorter period of time (or even denied entry). Long term your plan unfortunately isn't viable.
