Haha... Yeah. Its just that this is one of the very few updates I have had on my account for a while now. So just curious as to what comes next...
I see that your IP2 was a day after you paid RPRF. Guessing that's where I am headed as well!

Hello Guys,

*** very important information for applicants with spouse or common-law partner ***

I would like to share information this information with all you guys. I had been informed by Mr Mark Holthe a Canadian immigration lawyer at Stringam firm operates his business out of Lethbridge city in Alberta, that recently IRCC has changed the rules in regards to proof of funds for Permanent Resident Applicants settlement in Canada under express entry program. I have also called CIC and confirmed with agent about this.

Earlier acceptable proofs of funds by IRCC are following:
-bank accounts in principal applicant name or the name of applicant accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

-cashable investments in principal applicant name or the name of applicant accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

-cashable fixed deposits in principal applicant name or the name of applicant accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

Current acceptable proof of funds by IRCC are following :
-bank accounts in principal applicant name only, but not in the name of applicant accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

-cashable investments in principal applicant name only, but not in the name of applicant accompanying spouse/common-law partner;

-cashable fixed deposits in principal applicant name only but not in the name of applicant accompanying spouse/common-law partner.

I would like to request past applicants with spouse or common-law partner whose PR is approved/received to share their valuable inputs.

thanks

Is this authentic information or spam? Could you please post corresponding link showing these changes from CIC website?

Why avoid Quebec? is it not allowed to land in Quebec?
I'm planning to land in Montreal, would that be a problem? (I chose Toronto as my destination in the application)
I am not sure about this much, but AFAIK you can move to Montreal once you land at any other city in Canada as PR, but until and unless you are nominated by Quebec , you cannot land there (assuming you FSWO are EE applicant). Please ask others also in this regard.

I was talking about this forum and a group in f, i saw a lot of ppl from this forum n a particular fb grp got ppr the week before last week, whereas last week no one got!
True. Seems like the duration between ip2 and ppr has increased significantly. One of my friends got ppr within 3 days of getting ip2 status just 2 weeks back.

What happens to the one who's application is in progress?

From other forum, someone has given below information.. Helpful for guys stuck in IP2 . Especially those who know that their VO is ottawa

"Guys at IP2: I just spoke to a very friendly agent who confirmed that the application has been approved on the exact date that my application went into IP2. I asked her about the long wait and she gave me a reason that I had not really thought about. She said the office has been dealing with a massive back log that has extended passport wait times. So they are currently focussed on clearing that backlog before issuing a PPR email. She said that since the app is still within their 6 month target they have not prioritized sending out the PPR email. I hope this gives some relief to the guys at IP2!
Thank you for this, feeling a lot better now since I know the reason and the most important thing I didnt accidentally erased PPR mail :rolleyes: huh, I see also through my GCMS notes it was not sent yet!

LMAO:D:D:D Dudes I am not here to spam , if i want to there are many places to do. Please dont judge others as spammers without any evidence.
