I am a citizen of India, but had been living in US for past 6 years.
I had applied under the FSW and was awaiting ITA up until recently.
Meanwhile my company is sending me to another country for work assignment. And amongst this I received the ITA.

I don't have time to get started on the medical & police clearance. One of the reasons - I don't have my passport with me -- its with the consulate for stamping, so cannot initiate police clearance with my home country counsulate
and secondly packing for the move.

Is there a way to get extension on the ITA timeline? Who can I reach out to?
The Support center contact number is only CA number. I was trying to call from US - but it didn't work!

Another question, as I am going to be in another country in a 10days or so, for the US police clearance, do I initiate it as - Not a citizen of US, If you live outside of US ?

Pl advise..Thanks.

Extensions aren't possible. If you can't meet the deadline - decline the ITA. Then create another profile and re-enter the pool once you're settled in your new country and are ready to apply again.

You can apply from the new country itself. Get your fingerprints while in US, get application packet ready, give it to your friend. Have them apply fbi police clearance as soon as you leave US. Ask them to keep the receipts of mailing with tracking safe. If you don't get fbi PCC in next 90 days, you can get extension for that alone by submitting receipts as proof of applying.

Get Indian police clearance from the Indian embassy of your new country. Every country embassy is aware of police clearance these days and you should be able to do this at Indian embassy in the world.

I believe employment letter is the only other document left and you should be able to arrange that from anywhere.

Bank statement, you could have the bank email you or mail to your friends address.

You cannot get extension for your ita deadline. If you call them, they'll ask you to decline the invite and ask you to accept whenever you are ready.

Thanks scylla. Moving to a new country is overwhelming, and took me awhile to reply back to this post.
None the less, I had viewed your suggestion before I left US.
I actually ended up declining the invitation.

Thanks Nuff_Love. I had declined the invitation. But within 4 weeks - i got another ITA :)
I am doing the process now.
