is there any chance an application might get rejected at IP2 stage?
It is pretty uncommon, but YES, I've heard it happens when there is a disagreement between the analyst who has initially reviewed the case and the more senior official who reviews the case in IP2.

There is one case on https://myimmitracker.com/en/ca/trackers/consolidated-e-apr-tracker-express-entry-permanent-residency-application where a person was rejected in IP2 for missing job responsibilities in the proof of employment letter. And there was one guy who got rejected in IP2 for having 11.5 months of work experience instead of 12. It is little things like this in IP2 usually.

Also when there is fraud / misinformation involved they usually figure it out in the IP2 stage.

Exactly. What I meant was, some people reported their Add Docs Status as "We are reviewing" even when BGC was "We are processing background check" (IP2). Lets hope that CIC gives us the long awaited gift finally today :)
So you mean they cannot be reviewing documents whilst processing Background check brother?

Well I dint get that line in my reply ..

Dear Sir/Madam,

Please note that your application is being processed at the Case Processing Centre in Ottawa as per our regulatory timeline. Please note that we cannot confirm when your file will be ready for finalization.

We do not require any information from you at the present time. An officer will contact you if further information is required.

Please consult our Website for information regarding our processing times:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp

For your information, the processing times, provided on the website, is the average time it took visa offices to approve or refuse 80 percent of applications during a specified period in the past. They may not accurately predict future processing times.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum.

Regards,
oh ok, well I got my ITA on April 5th and AOR on June 20th. My wife's IELTS score expired on June 27th. I heard that once you receive your ITA your profile gets blocked and an expired IELTS after that shouldnt be an issue. But, I am not sure whether they are referring to the IELTS in this line "Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within six (6) months as this could delay your application."

Can anyone please give their suggestions?

Actually, I received AOR on 12th of June. however, I have reached IP2 on 18th of July,
"We are processing your background check"
What do you think?

I would try calling them if I were you. People at the CIC call center are very helpful.

I am not sure if calling would be fine or would create more problem.
You can just ask them a general question without giving them your real name or your UCI number.

Yeah but I guess we wont be able to call them from outside Canada. And what do you think of this issue ? Will this create a delay in processing? Will my wife be asked to retake her ielts again???

You can call them from Skype - I have done that before, there is a post describing how to do it somewhere on this board.

As for my opinion:
I think the line that you quoted may be related to other documents than the language test results. If you are past your IP1 then I don't think they would reject you for this in IP2. But don't take me too seriously - I am just a guy from the internet
