Hi,

I had applied for PR under Express Entry and received a request to pay RPRF on May 17th. I paid the fee the same day. Since then, there has been no update on the PR. When I call the CIC customer care, I am told that they have all the required documents, the background check is in process and there is nothing needed from my end. However, I am still waiting and am getting anxious. If anyone else is or has been in the same situation, please advise.

Thanks,
Archana

I am a citizen of India but am currently living in Canada on a work permit. I have applied under Express Entry (PNP Stream) from Canada itself. Its almost close to 6 months since I submitted my PR application and the radio silence from CIC makes me really anxious.

I think they are giving preference to processing FSW-Outland applications over CEC/PNP applications ..that could be the reason your application is at a backseat.

I see. Thank you! In any case, the express entry processing should be complete by 6 months from the date of submitting the application oris it taking longer?

I dont think longer than 6 months.. you will get it soon.. BTW, after my RPRF payment, BG status changed to IP2 in a day.

MY BG has not changed. When I call the CIC customer care service, they tell me that they have all the required docs in place, the application is being processed and that there is nothing that needs to be done from my end. It'll be 6 months in about 2 weeks. Hopefully, I should get my PR by then.
