HI
I am from India, I received my ITA but almost after 10 days receiving it I lost my passport during travelling through a public transport. I have applied for a reissue but it might take time, I am not sure whether it will come before deadline of my submission of application as its under process. I have scanned copy of my last passport and police lost report and file number of reissue of my passport. What should I Do in column of travel document if i dont get my new passport on time . I dont want to lose this please help.

Post ITA, you have 90 days of time to submit your documents, even if you lost your passport after 10 days you still have 80 days in your hand. Passport Sewa is very efficient these days and if you apply for your passport you shall get it within a couple of weeks.

Meanwhile, keep all the other documents ready with yourself and once you have the passport submit all the documents.

Worst case you don't receive it before the deadline you can proceed with the document submission since you have a copy of your passport. Simultaneously, you can explain the scenario in the LOE.

Good luck!

Which city in Punjab are you based out of? If the police officials have not contacted you yet, you may visit your police station by your own and get your documents validated and file released. This is a very common phenomenon in India.

I don't think you can use your old passport number for the police verification since they would have received a new file number and a fresh set of documents which they would like to validate.

Mohali (zirakpur) . We have visited to police station They told they have not received my file yet.

I am talking about police verification for Police clearance certificate. Because I am already late in so much less time how will i get PCC in my case.
I have heard that we can get police verification done by conventional method i.e directly going to SSP office and filling a form and they will do verification.

Yes you can definitely take the conventional method for PCC, but there is an element of risk in it since they miss out on key points in the certificate (there have been quite a few rejections cos of this). The one which is done by the PSK is a standardised one and hence safe.

Hi guys. I am in similar situation. Lost my passport today. I got ITA about 4 days ago & I only have 56 days to submit. I will try my best to get the new passport but just in case if I don’t get my new passport can I still submit the application with lost passport and explain in LOE? I have scanned copy of the lost passport.
