leaving Canada temporarily after citizenship application

Hello all, I have a question about having to leave Canada after citizenship application is sent. I have searched the forum and found some similar questions, however the scenario does not seem to be the same so I'd rather ask again here.

With Bill C-6 coming into effect soon (3/5 rule), I am hoping that I can send my application right after it is implemetend in Fall (I will have ~2.5 year as a PR and ~2 year with PGWP by Fall). While the exact date of 3/5 rule implementation is not known yet, I was told by my company that I will probably have to go to a European country for around 6 months in a few months. From what I know, one should always apply for (send out) the citizenship application while they are physically in Canada (please correct me if I am wrong). For this reason, I am hoping that I can push back the starting date of my temporary job in Europe until 3/5 rule is in place and my application is sent. After that, I will leave Canada for my work. Of course no one knows exactly whether the processing time will be the same as now or becomes slower, but in case I was notified for citizenship test/oath (I will have friends checking out my mail while I am away), I will fly back for it and return to work again in very short trips.

So my questions are:

1. Is it all safe/OK to do so as I planned? No RQ will be triggered (for instance when I attend my test they might find out I am away since I mailed in my application - do I prepare a letter from the company to prove that I am away for work on a temporary basis?). My PR is good till Jul 2020 and I have been living here all the time except a few short trips abroad for vacation/work so PR status will not be a problem.

2. Do I have to inform them an address change (to where I will be living abroad) or just keep it the same as where I live now and have my friend take care of my mails?

3. After doing the oath, I will not be getting my passport right away. How would I leave and come back without a Canadian passport while I have attended my oath and should be officially a Canadian by then?

4. Will anyone suggest that I wait until I return from my temporary work and apply later, based on any similar experience they had in the past? I do prefer to get my citizenship as sson as possible due to possiblly moving to another country very soon.

Thank you for your answer in advance.

I dunno about you, but knowing employers in Canada where you're just thought of as a number, i wouldn't put everything on the "job". I'd do what my own priorities are, and that means getting/applying for citizenship as soon as I'm eligible. Get/Do whatever you can to get it right away without further delay so that you're "free" to move anywhere.
So I would never advise you to wait until after "temporary work". Remember these companies won't care if they have to let someone go if things change. So no need to be so loyal as to change your priorities for them. Just ensure you have a Canadian address for CIC to send you mail.

Passport can be applied 2 days after oath. It says "10 business days" processing time but you can request urgent service etc. Even if you don't, most people end up getting it within a week or so with delivery at home via CanadaPost. (when u apply in person at passport office).
I strongly urge u to NOT leave after oath without a passport. Remember its easy here, outside canada the embassies may have other criteria and its not easy finding a canadian guarantor for firsttime passport application outside Canada.

I would say there's a decent chance RQ will be triggered if you apply for citizenship and then leave Canada for an extended period of time. Many people here seem to be under the mistaken impression that before the current rules came into place, it was fine to apply for citizenship and then leave Canada long term - and there was no impact to the citizenship application process. That's not the case, even before intent to reside, leaving Canada after applying for citizenship would often be a trigger for RQ.

Does that mean the best to do is then to apply once I return from my temporary work? As far as I know RQ is gonna be a very uncertain factor in the length of process, so one should try to avoid it. Can anyone else share their own experience on this if they were in a similar situation?
