Good afternoon all,

I have been reading the forums for quite some time now, it has been a great source of information so far. I now look forward to contributing too.

Applied to EE (FSW), received ITA on 12th July and now gathering the documents.

I called the clinic to schedule an appointment and they asked for my UCI. Here is the problem:

- my current EE profile (the one I got an ITA for) doesn't show any UCI
- however my previous EE profile (that was ineligible), has a UCI number (I can see it when opening the details of the profile)

According to the clinic, they must know whether I have a UCI or not. I told them yes (from my previous profile) and they couldn't find me in the database of applicants. The clinic mentioned that if I give the wrong UCI, it could lead to serious problems later on and they wouldn't give me the exam receipt/form that need to be uploaded along with other support documents.

I am a bit confused now. The online application form also asks if I already have a UCI, which I also said yes.

Does anyone else had a similar issue? Should I mention the UCI on my previous profile or is a UCI linked to a specific EE profile and in this case I assume I do not have one?

Appreciate any advice you may have,

Thanks for reading
matt

Hello Matt,

UCI- Unique Client Identifier remains the same, doesn't matter how many times you apply. There shouldn't be any problem if you give your old UCI to the clinic. It was assigned to you anyways.

Thank you for the reply. Problem is that I gave them my "old" UCI and they couldn't find me in their system, that appears to be linked with IRCC database of candidates.

So the clinic said that if my UCI is not the right one, my exams might not correspond to my applicant profile and therefore "useless".

Only choice I have is not to mention my old UCI number and go for the exam/follow the process as if I was never assigned a UCI.

Big headache.. hopefully solved.

Hi there people, I have recently created a new EE profile on 15 August since my old profile has expired...My old EE profile has a UCI number.

However, my newer one does not ask or show one. Is that normal ?
I did some searching on the CIC website and found some info...

If you are applying to us for the first time, you will not yet have a UCI. If you are filling out a form that asks for one, write “Not Applicable” or “N/A” in the space provided.

If you are applying online and the form does not allow you to type “N/A,” leave the space blank.

Is it to my understanding that we can leave the UCI blank bcoz when I try to type my old expired EE profile UCI profile, it isn't letting me update..please

Hi - yes it is normal, at least I am in the same situation.

When applying for EE, I chosed to enter the UCI of my previous EE profile (that was not eligible) for this question.

I can't tell you it's the right thing to do or not. My application is now at IP1 stage (background check if I am correct).

Hope it helps.
