Applying for PR with Common Law Partner- Documents Required

Hello,

I have completed my PR application and it is the final stages of processing. However, in a few months I am going to declare my girlfriend of 3 years as my common-law partner. I have already submitted my documents to CIC but I was wondering what documents CIC will request from my girlfriend. We asked CIC over a month ago and they still haven't responded. She is from Japan and we are currently living in New Zealand, so it will take some time to get all the documents. Furthermore, we won't have a permanent address after October, so we would like to get everything sorted out before then. Does anyone know what documents CIC will request and if my girlfriend will have to take an English test?

Only apply for common law if you have lived together 12 consecutive months. You need proof of that such as a lease or bills in your names. Go on cic website. Look for your category. I take it, it is sponsoring a family member?

We will have been living together for 12 months soon, but we want to get all the documents ready. When I change my status from single to common-law, we will be prepared and ready to submit everything. We have a lease in both our names plus airline tickets with both of our names.

I'm more concerned with what general documents CIC will require her to submit for PR. I am not a PR yet so I can't sponsor her. It's confusing because we are applying for PR on the same application (or rather, I am adding her to my application), but I am still the main applicant. So I'm not sure precisely what documents she needs and what procedures we need to go through for translations. The CIC page isn't that clear in this regard.
