Hi there,
My wife is an Australian citizen living with me in Canada. She holds a Visitor Record and a Work Permit which states "Temporary Residence Maintained" she received this during our application process for spousal sponsorship.
She flew into Australia for a family emergence and she will be returning next week, but now I'm starting to get worried that she will need an ETA to re-enter Canada. Is this true?
Everything I've read on the CIC website states that if she has temporary residence status and a work permit an ETA is not necessary, but when the work permit was issued we were never given an ETA number though I've been told it's given automatically when you get the work permit.
Does anyone have experience with this? Please help!
Thank you.
