PRTD - London

Hi all

I received great advice to apply for a PRTD rather than renouncing my PR.

I have been tracking the process and got the following message:

Visa application, tracking ID No.................– Your passport has been sent from the Canada Visa Application Centre, on 17/07/2017 by courier.

Does this mean it's been approved and I can confirm travel?

Personally before booking any travel I would want my passport in my hands.

No - it's what it says - they have sent your passport back which may or may not have a PRTD attached.

My PRTD experience:

(Disclaimer: PRTD is entirely case and visa office dependent; one case is not necessarily another's case)

VFS: Paris, France
Case: PR card in delayed renewal, RO met
Actual passport sent with the application (it is required for them to put the visa on it)
PRTD took about 3 weeks with request for additional documents (and lots of follow up)
Multiple-Entry (don't remember requesting for it but got it) / 1-year validity

You are correct. I posted my timeline because one poster requested it above and I thought my case may help to provide insight, despite the fact that it is not in the same VFS.
