July 2017 - Came to CAD after 14 yrs - Spousal Sponsorship

Hi I am a Canadian Citizen & came to Canada after 14 years and since I was not resident I have not filled any taxes for the last 14 years as well. I came back a few months back and just got my healthcard, driving license etc. I do not have a job yet and I am living with a relative at the moment and searching for a job in my field .

Should I wait to get a decent job ( may be 2-4 months ) or apply for my Spouse Sponsorship right-away wasting anytime. I would like to apply ASAP to bring here here if there is no chance of rejection !! (WE have 3 children together and they are all Canadian Nationals .)

Will I get rejected as I currently do not have
any job,
any apartment lease in my name,
no car / insurance in my name
anything else like hydro/ cable etc in my name
haven't filed taxes for a very long time

except a bank account/ mobile on a my name.

So, based on this above will IRCC will conclude that I do not have ties to Canada and may go back rather than residing in Canada and reject my spousal application.

Please advise should I apply or wait till I get some of the above in my favor showing my ties and intention to stay here long-term.

You can apply them now, income is not the key to get visa, but you'd better prepare a good explanation letter for the vo to understand more.

Hi there,

Basically, you have to prove that either you or your wife will not have to ask for social assistance. You have to prove some kind of income form you or from someone to show that you´ll be financially ok.

But in any case, she can come to Canada tomorrow if you want to, you can apply Outland even if she is in Canada.

Thanks Helena for your reply. It is very much appreciated. However, I am confused by your last statement that " she can come to Canada tomorrow if you want to" ... How .. she is in India and can not come unless she gets a TRV or PR both require time and tax documents .

I mean she can come with a visitor´s visa and then apply for PR from here so you are all together.

However I don´t know what the requirements for India are.

But in the meantime go on looking for a job and you can both start preparing the package for PR which takes pretty long.

Thanks Helena. I plan to do exactly the same. I have started looking for jobs and hope to get one soon .
