The college is listed under the approved colleges. I looked it up because my inclination was to say that it wouldn't be on the list of approved private colleges. Did I miss something else? Obviously there are timelines and other technical details but in general seems to qualify to try and get the PGWPP.

Unfortunately your assumption is incorrect. All the list of schools indicates is for which schools you can obtain a study permit - a post graduate work permit is an entirely different matter and there are additional requirements to meet. Plenty of the private schools on the list don't qualify for a PGWP (even though they qualify for a study permit). Generally speaking, it's best to completely avoid private schools. They typically offer a much lower quality of education that public colleges, have very bad reputations with employers and you often don't qualify for a PGWP once you're done.

Not sure how I looked at the wrong list. Was genuinely surprised when the private college showed up on the list I looked at. I apologize that was my fault. My initial questioning about what school the OP attended was so I could look up whether it qualified for the PGWP. Glad you picked that up. Unfortunately many international students are in for a big surprise although in fairness they are also using the study permit to qualify for PGWPP not to further their studies. I guess everyone is not being as upfront as possible. Thanks for catching my mistake. Will doublecheck my work next time!
