I'm not sure if you followed this thread. Almost every US resident including mine whose status changed to background in progress (so called ip2) did so without going to NA. My background changed to in progress on 6th July and I called cic today. They told me that my eligibility check is still in progress. Generally when the status changes to ip2, the notion is eligibility has been completed, and only background verification remains pending. But as you could see it is not true with my case at all. They are following different pattern for inland (including US residents) people. Another member here is having background in progress since more than a month which is not usual as they say. May be ip1 and ip2 just holds good for other fswo.
I dont think this is the situation for US residents only. I am a non-US resident.
And in March, BG was NBG and in late April it was 'we are processing your bg check which usually is IP2 as it was after NBG. But in 2.5 months we have not received PPR.

Are you fsw inland by any chance? Did you call for status ?

I know one US applicant whose BG changed to IP2 yesterday, without any NA2 stage. But these wordings are sort of inconsistent, since I've read people being in IP2 for some amount of time. His AOR was May 10.

Bw, anyone here ordered their GCMS?
My Status did change to 'NA' for couple of hours after three weeks from IP1 yesterday. But it was only for couple of hours and then it went to IP2. i am also a US resident. AOR april 6. Not sure why is it different for different people

FSW outland. Except a 3 weeks trip to Canada never been there.
We had an additional document request, a PCC almost 40 days back. This is directly submitted to CIC. Hence, we have no clue how far our application has moved. Will be requesting GCMS notes this weekend as already 5 months have gone by.

Does anyone know what this ambiguous IP1/IP2 status means in terms of R10 review being completed for US residents? In other words, if our BG status is at this IP1/IP2 stage, can we at least conclude that R10 review is passed for us? Since your eligibility check is now in progress @DEEPCUR, that would also seem to indicate that you have passed R10 review, since R10 review normally precedes eligibility check (at least for non-US/Inland).

R10 completed. They confirmed that.

That's good! I have probably passed R10 then too since we have similar timelines. I have some concerns about the timing of my French language test results, so I am hoping that if my R10 review is passed that is a good sign.

I believe they complete r10 at cio Sydney and move the file to cpc Ottawa for further adjudication. That's when background is set to in progress I presume. Eligibility is checked along with background check I guess.

As discussed earlier, additional documents may be a strong indicator that eligibility is complete. Because 99% had status changed to no documents required with background change. For me it's still reviewed. They are indeed reviewed.

I thought language test results were checked at R10 stage, not eligibility stage?

They do verify language results, but R10 is more about checking valid PCC s and if all original documents have been submitted. For things that affect points like they just pass recommendation to officer and don't make any decisions.
Hmm, I see. Well I did find a case of somebody who got rejected for the same language test issue I'm concerned about, and it happened one month after AOR. So that makes me think it was part of the R10 review... which would be good news for me (assuming I have actually passed that stage). Keeping my fingers crossed!

For which country was the PCC requested?

I got a request for an RCMP one yesterday, yet I've never even been to Canada! I'm so confused because the letter said to do one because I lived there for over 6 months. I've never lived in Canada ever...and now I'm sad because I guess my application will now be delayed for no good reason. :(

For Colombia; it is to be provided later when CIC asks and not with the application.
If your application is in Ottawa you can call them and get help through agent. If it is with a local VO try writing to them if there is no contact number provided for the VO. You just need to tell them that it seems like a system error and may be the Visa officer had to request it for some other application and mistakenly asked you for it.
