Same situation and timeline as us2017.

AOR1- Feb 23
SA- Mar 02
Medicals passed- Mar 03
Then nothing..
US common law. Outland.
I sent EVERYTHING upfront..
Medicals. PCC. Shedule A. Background info from FBI.
Everything. Haven't heard anything in five months.

I've called a couple times and all they say is "we have everything. Everything is linked to your account. Mississauga hasn't deemed it ready to be sent. They are, possibly, working on your eligibility."
Same thing every time.
I'm so frustrated and worried.
I need this to be over.
The CIC hotline agents have now sent two notes to CPC-M saying "transfer this app" and it's always the rely above.

haha yeah people "abuses" GCMS and request too it too much :p. It is better to request at earliest every month. If it is every week, you will not see much or see no update on GCMS (other people in this forum said that)

That's good to know! Thanks for letting me know. What is your (or anyone's) suggestion... is requesting the GCMS notes worth it??? How helpful is it really to request this? And what additional details would you typically get from this?
I'm only asking because at this point, GCKey and ECAS are both disappointing to look at lol ...do I really need a third method of disappointment from ircc lol ...?

I've requested GCMS notes. My mistake was doing what they told me and wait for their request to send the Schedule A. They did not request PCC. 2 months after they replied that they're sorry the online system did not work. Great, thanks.

I would say it is really useful at certain stages of your application. For example:
- If they request an interview with you. The GCMS will have the detail on why they want an interview so that you can prepare for it.
- At some point, you application takes longer than expected (in progress for so long, background/security does not start for so long), in the GCMS note, there will be some notes to read and understand why.

In my case, I've just got my GCMS today. While GCkey and Ecas show as in progress, Eligibility Check in progress, the GCMS notes show in details that the Officer at the VO put a "Recommend Pass" and "Recomend WAV" on my file, no red flags on our relationship. Then he assigned the case back to an officer in Mississauga for another review since mid May. No update till now. Thus, with this thread and my GCMS, I guess that Mississauga might experience some backlog now.

From the experience of other members on this forum (I have read somewhere), they recommend to request the GCMS 4-5 months after the Sponsor has pass the eligibility or maybe 1-2 months after the file is transferred to a local VO. Since then you will have some useful notes on your file. How often to request GCMS? probably a month or two.

Hope this will help you.

We're in a similar situation except we haven't even gotten SA yet, and it's very worry some.
Application Received: April 28, 2017
Application Started and GC Account Created: May 19, 2017
Since then, nothing at all.

Whenever I try to call I can never get to talk to a real person either. We're not sure what to do.

You have to keep calling and calling. It will hang up on you repeatedly until you get through.

Is there a way to get to the talk to somebody option quicker? or do I need to go through the whole thing every time?

I called yesterday and it was no longer giving me the "we're experiencing a high number of calls" line durring the opening message anymore

It actually told me something along the lines of please make a choice and we will place you on hold.
The past two times I've called I've gotten through on the first try.

They recently changed their phone system but you're going to have to listen to parts of the automated message each time and hit the numbers. It's very annoying! I think it's worthwhile for you since it's been 2.5 months and no SA or requests, ask what's up.

Oh whatever Mason just said is ahhhmazing. It used to hang up on you after "experiencing high number of calls". So that's good :D

hmm just called this morning and it was still saying high number of calls. I'll try a few more times and see if I can get through. Thanks!

Here is how I always get through.
Just wait for the beginning message to start. Theres this weird time when the recorded message kind of changes tone and asks you a question and you're right away able to pick a number. it's a little after the lottery grandparent info message.
As soon as you can choose.. click 2-1-1-0
That's how I get through and Kcwards told me that shortcut.
